अथर्ववेद (कांड 11)
सर्वे॑ देवा अ॒त्याय॑न्तु॒ त्रिष॑न्धे॒राहु॑तिः प्रि॒या । सं॒धां म॑ह॒तीं र॑क्षत॒ ययाग्रे॒ असु॑रा जि॒ताः ॥ (१५)
इंद्र आदि सभी देव हमारे शत्रुओं की सेना को छोड़ कर हमारे पास आएं. सेना को मोहित करने वाले देव को हमारी यह आहुति प्रसन्न करने वाली हो. हे देवो! अपनी असुर विजय की महती प्रतिज्ञा की रक्षा करो. इस त्रिषंधि की आहुति ने पहले असुरों को जीत लिया था. (१५)
All the gods like Indra etc. should leave the army of our enemies and come to us. May this sacrifice of ours be pleasing to the God who fascinates the army. O God! Protect your asura's great promise of victory. The sacrifice of this trishandhi had conquered the first asuras. (15)
