अथर्ववेद (कांड 2)
क्षे॑त्रि॒यात्त्वा॒ निरृ॑त्या जामिशं॒साद्द्रु॒हो मु॑ञ्चामि॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ पाशा॑त् । अ॑ना॒गसं॒ ब्रह्म॑णा त्वा कृणोमि शि॒वे ते॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी उ॒भे स्ता॑म् ॥ (१)
हे व्याधि पीड़ित पुरुष! मैं तुझे क्षय, कोढ़ आदि रोगों से, रोग के कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से उत्पन्न पाप से, गुरु, देव आदि के द्रोह से एवं वरुण के पाप से छुड़ाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हैं. (१)
O man suffering from disease! I redeem you from diseases like decay, leprosy, etc., from the sin god caused by disease, from the sin caused by the anger of the captives, from the treason of the Guru, Dev etc. and from the sin of Varuna. Both the world and the earth are benefactors for you. (1)

हे रोगी पुरुष! जलों के सहित अग्नि तेरे लिए सुखकर हो. सभी जड़ीबूटियों के साथ सोमलता तेरे लिए सुखकारी हो. इसी प्रकार मैं तुझे क्षय, कोढ़ आदि से, रोग के कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से उत्पन्न पाप से, गुरु, देव आदि के द्रोह से एवं वरुण देव के पापों से छुड़ाता हूं. मैं अपने मंत्र से तुझे पाप रहित बनाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी बनें. (२)
O patient man! May the agni, along with the water, be pleasant for you. May Somlata be happy for you with all the herbs. Similarly, I redeem you from decay, leprosy, etc., from the sin god caused by disease, from the sin caused by the anger of the captives, from the treason of the Guru, Dev etc. and from the sins of Varun Dev. हे रोगी पुरुष! धरती और आकाश के मध्य तेरे लिए पक्षियों को धारण करने वाली वायु सुखकारी हो. पूर्व, पश्चिम आदि चारों उत्तम दिशाएं तेरे लिए सुखकारी हों. इसी प्रकार मैं तुझे क्षय, कुष्ठ आदि से, रोग के कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से, उत्पन्न पाप से, गुरु, देव आदि के द्रोह से एवं वरुण देव के पापों से छुड़ाता हूं. मैं अपने मंत्र से तुझे पाप रहित बनाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हों. (३)
O patient man! May the air holding birds be pleasant for you between the earth and the sky. May the best directions like east, west etc. be pleasant for you. हे रोगी पुरुष! ये दिव्य एवं वायु पत्नी पूर्व आदि चारों दिशाएं एवं सब के प्रेरक सविता सभी प्रकार तुम्हें सुखी करें. इसी प्रकार मैं तुझे क्षय, कुष्ठ आदि से, रोग के कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से उत्पन्न पाप से, गुरु, देव आदि के द्रोह से तथा वरुण देव के पापों से छुड़ाता हूं. मैं अपने मंत्र के द्वारा तुझे पाप रहित बनाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हों. (४)
O sick man! May this divine and air wife, the four directions and the inspiring Savita of all, make you happy in all ways. In the same way, I rescue you from the sins caused by tuberculosis, leprosy, etc., from the sins caused by disease, from the sins arising from the anger of the brothers, from the sedition of the Guru, God, etc., and from the sins of Varuna Dev. हे रोगी पुरुष! मैं तुझे पूर्व आदि दिशाओं के मध्य वृद्धावस्था तक नीरोग रह कर जीवन बिताने योग्य बनाता हूं. तेरा राजयक्ष्मा आदि रोग एवं पाप देवता निर्मित रोग तुझ से दूर चले जाएं. इसी प्रकार मैं तुझे क्षय, कोढ़ आदि से, रोग के कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से उत्पन्न पाप से, गुरु, देव आदि के द्रोह से एवं वरुण देव के पापों से छुड़ाता हूं. मैं अपने मंत्र से तुझे पाप रहित बनाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हों. (५)
O patient man! I enable you to live a life of life by staying healthy till old age in the middle of east etc. May your diseases like rajayakshama etc. and diseases made by sin gods go away from you. हे रोगी पुरुष! तू यक्ष्मा रोग से छूट गया है. रोग के कारण बने हुए पाप से, निंदा से, द्रोह से, वरुण के पाप से तू छूट गया है. इसी प्रकार मैं तुझे क्षय, कोढ़ आदि से, रोग के कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से उत्पन्न पाप से, गुरु, देव आदि के द्रोह से तथा वरुण देव के पाप से छुड़ाता हूं. मैं अपने मंत्र से तुझे पाप रहित बनाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हों. (६)
O patient man! You have been discharged from tuberculosis. You have been freed from the sin caused by disease, from condemnation, from treason, from the sin of Varuna. Similarly, I redeem you from decay, leprosy, etc., from the sin god caused by disease, from the sin caused by the anger of the captives, from the treason of the Guru, Dev etc. and from the sin of Varun Dev. I make you sin-free with my mantra. May both the world and the earth be benefactors to you. (6)

हे रोगी पुरुष! तूने शत्रु के समान बाधा पहुंचाने वाले रोग को त्याग दिया है एवं सुख प्राप्त कर लिया है. उत्तम कर्मो के फल के रूप में प्राप्त होने वाले इस कल्याणमय भूलोक में तू स्थित है. इसी प्रकार मैं तुझे क्षय, कोढ़, आदि से, रोग का कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से उत्पन्न पाप से, देव, गुरु आदि के द्रोह से एवं वरुण देव के पाप से छुड़ाता हूं. मैं अपने मंत्र से तुझे पाप रहित बनाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हों. (७)
O patient man! You have given up the disease that causes obstruction like an enemy and have attained happiness. You are situated in this welfare land that is received as the fruit of good deeds. Similarly, I redeem you from decay, leprosy, etc., from the sin god who is the cause of disease, from the sin caused by the anger of the captives, from the treason of Dev, Guru etc. and from the sin of Varun Dev. I make you sin-free with my mantra. May both the world and the earth be benefactors to you. (7)

हे रोगी पुरुष! सत्य बने हुए सूर्य अंधकार रूपी ग्रह से तुझे छुड़ाते हैं. इंद्र आदि देव तुझे पाप से मुक्त करते हैं. इसी प्रकार मैं तुझे क्षय, कोढ़ आदि से, रोग का कारण बने हुए पाप देवता से, बांधवों के आक्रोश से उत्पन्न पाप से, गुरु, देव आदि के द्रोह से, वरुण देव के पाप से छुड़ाता हूं. मैं अपने मंत्र के द्वारा तुझे पाप रहित बनाता हूं. द्यावा और पृथ्वी दोनों तेरे लिए कल्याणकारी हों. (८)
O patient man! The sun that remains true liberates you from the planet of darkness. Indra Adi Dev frees you from sin.
