विश्वे॑षु॒ हि त्वा॒ सव॑नेषु तु॒ञ्जते॑ समा॒नमेकं॒ वृष॑मण्यवः॒ पृथ॒क्स्व: सनि॒ष्यवः॒ पृथ॑क् । तं त्वा॒ नावं॒ न प॒र्षणिं॑ शू॒षस्य॑ धु॒रि धी॑महि । इन्द्रं॒ न य॒ज्ञैश्च॒तय॑न्त आ॒यव॒ स्तोमे॑भिरिन्द्रमा॒यवः॑ ॥ (१)
हे इंद्र! फलों की वर्षा की याचना करने वाले, भांतिभांति के स्वर्गो की कामना करने वाले तथा प्रातः, मध्याह्न और सायं सवनों में तुम्हारी ही प्रार्थना करते हैं. जिस प्रकार नौका अन्न के पूलों से भरी होती है, उसी प्रकार हम बल धारण के लिए नियुक्त करते हैं. हम इंद्र को प्रसन्न करने की इच्छा से अपने स्तोत्रों का उच्चारण करते हैं. O Indra! Those who plead for the rain of fruits, those who wish for heavens of kindness and pray to you in the morning, midday and evening evening. Just as a boat is full of pools of food, so we appoint for force. We recite our stotras with the desire to please Indra. (1)
हे इंद्र! अन्न की कामना करने वाले दंपती गोदान के अवसर पर तुम्हारा ध्यान करते हैं तथा तुम से फल देने की प्रार्थना करते हैं. तुम स्वर्ग में जाने वाले व्यक्तियों को जानते हो. तुम्हारा वर्षा करने में सहायक वज्र तुम्हारे हाथ में प्रकट होता है. (२)
O Indra! Couples who wish for food meditate on you on the occasion of Godan and pray to you to give fruits. You know people who go to heaven. The thunderbolt that helps you rain appears in your hand. (2)
हम स्वर्ग प्राप्ति की कामना से सूर्य को प्रकट करने वाली उषा को हवि प्रदान करते हैं. हे वर्षणशील इंद्र! तुम युद्ध के इच्छुक शत्रुओं का संहार करने के लिए अपना वज्र हाथ में लेते हो. मैं ने जिन नवीन स्तोत्रों की रचना की है, तुम उन्हें सुनो. (३)
With the desire to attain heaven, we offer havi to Usha who reveals the Sun. O rain-bearing Indra! You take your thunderbolt in your hand to kill the enemies who are desirous of war. Listen to the new hymns that I have composed. (3)
