अथर्ववेद (कांड 7)
उद॑स्य श्या॒वौ वि॑थु॒रौ गृध्रौ॒ द्यामि॑व पेततुः । उ॑च्छोचनप्रशोच॒नाव॒स्योच्छोच॑नौ हृ॒दः ॥ (१)
इस शत्रु के नित्य चलने वाले दोनों काले होंठ विदीर्ण हो जाएं तथा इस प्रकार गिर पढ़ें, जिस प्रकार आकाश में उड़ता हुआ गिद्ध नीचे गिरता है. उच्छोचन और प्रशोचन नामक मृत्यु देव इस शत्रु के हृदय को अधिक रूप में शोक पहुंचाने वाले हों. (१)
Let both the black lips of this enemy fall apart and read the fall in this way, just as the vulture flying in the sky falls down. May the death god named Uchochchan and Prashochana grieve the heart of this enemy in more form. (1)
