हे पाप रूपिणी लक्ष्मी अर्थात् दरिद्रता! तू इस प्रदेश से दूर चली जा. तू इस प्रदेश में दिखाई मत दे तथा इस प्रदेश से बहुत दूर चली जा. मैं तुझे अपने शत्रु के साथ लोहे के कांटों से बांधता हूं. (१)
Lakshmi, the sin of sin, that is, poverty! Go away from this land. Do not appear in this land and go far away from this land. I bind you with my enemy with iron thorns. (1)
वंदना नाम की लताविशेष जिस प्रकार वृक्ष को चारों ओर से लपेट लेती है, उसी प्रकार दुर्गति करने वाली तथा प्रिय न लगने वाली दरिद्रता ने मुझे सभी ओर से घेर लिया है. हे सविता देव! इस दरिद्रता को मुझ से एवं मेरे प्रदेश से अन्यत्र स्थापित करो. हाथों में सोना लिए हुए सविता ने हमें धन दिया है. (२)
Just as a creeper named Vandana wraps the tree from all sides, in the same way, the poverty that does not seem to be bad and dear has surrounded me from all sides. O Savita Dev! Establish this poverty from me and my territory elsewhere. Savita, with gold in her hands, has given us money. (2)
एक सौ लक्ष्मियां मनुष्य के जन्म के साथ ही उत्पन्न होती हैं. उन में से अतिशय पापिष्ठ लक्ष्मी को हम इस प्रदेश से दूर भेजते हैं. हे जन्म लेने वालों के ज्ञाता अग्नि देव! उन लक्ष्मियों में जो मंगलकारिणी हैं, उन्हें हमारे साथ स्थापित करो. (३)
One hundred lakshmis arise with the birth of human beings. We send the most sinful Lakshmi away from this region. O God of agni, the knower of those who are born! Establish those Lakshmis who are Mangalkarini with us. (3)
मैं इन बताई गई एक सौ लक्ष्मियों को उसी प्रकार विभाजित कर के दो भागों में रखता हूं जिस प्रकार गोशाला में बैठी हुई गायों को ग्वाला विभाजित करता है. पुण्य लक्ष्मियां मुझ में सुख से निवास करें और पापकारिणी लक्ष्मियां मुझ से दूर चली जाएं. (४)
I divide these mentioned 100 lakshmis into two parts in the same way as the cowherd divides the cows sitting in the cowshed. May virtuous lakshmis dwell happily in me and sinful lakshmis go away from me. (4)
