अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 5
अ॒नेनेन्द्रो॑ म॒णिना॑ वृ॒त्रम॑हन्न॒नेनासु॑रा॒न्परा॑भावयन्मनी॒षी । अ॒नेना॑जय॒द्द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी उ॒भे इ॒मे अ॒नेना॑जयत्प्र॒दिश॒श्चत॑स्रः ॥ (३)
किसी भी उपाय से वृत्रासुर को मारने में असफल होने पर इंद्र ने इसी मणि को बांधने के प्रभाव से विजय के उपाय जाने एवं राक्षसों को पराजित एवं नष्ट किया था. इंद्र ने इसी मणि के प्रभाव से धरती और आकाश पर विजय प्राप्त की है. इसी मणि के प्रभाव से इंद्र ने पूर्व, पश्चिम, उत्तर एवं दक्षिण-चारों दिशाओं को जीता है. After failing to kill Vritrasura by any means, Indra, with the effect of tying this gem, went for victory and defeated and destroyed the demons. Indra has conquered the earth and the sky with the influence of this gem. With the influence of this gem, Indra has won all four directions east, west, north and south. (3)
