ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
अग्ने॒ नय॑ सु॒पथा॑ रा॒ये अ॒स्मान्विश्वा॑नि देव व॒युना॑नि वि॒द्वान् । यु॒यो॒ध्य१॒॑स्मज्जु॑हुरा॒णमेनो॒ भूयि॑ष्ठां ते॒ नम॑उक्तिं विधेम ॥ (१)
हे द्योतमान अग्नि! तुम सभी प्रकार के ज्ञानों को जानते हो, इसलिए हमें धन की ओर ले जाने वाले उत्तम मार्ग पर ले जाओ. कुटिलता उत्पन्न करने वाला पाप हमसे दूर करो. हम तुम्हें बार-बार नमस्कार कहते हैं. (१)
O Agni! You know all kinds of knowledge, so lead us to the best path that leads us to wealth. Remove from us the evil that creates crookedness. We greet you again and again. (1)

अग्ने॒ त्वं पा॑रया॒ नव्यो॑ अ॒स्मान्स्व॒स्तिभि॒रति॑ दु॒र्गाणि॒ विश्वा॑ । पूश्च॑ पृ॒थ्वी ब॑हु॒ला न॑ उ॒र्वी भवा॑ तो॒काय॒ तन॑याय॒ शं योः ॥ (२)
हे अति नवीन अग्नि! तुम अतिपूजित यज्ञादि साधनों का सहारा लेकर हमें दुर्गम पापों के पार पहुंचाओ. हमारी नगरी और धरती अत्यंत विस्तृत हो. हमारी संतान को तुम सुख दो. (२)
O new fire! You take the help of over-worshiped sacrificial means to bring us across difficult sins. Let our city and earth be extremely wide. Give happiness to our children. (2)

अग्ने॒ त्वम॒स्मद्यु॑यो॒ध्यमी॑वा॒ अन॑ग्नित्रा अ॒भ्यम॑न्त कृ॒ष्टीः । पुन॑र॒स्मभ्यं॑ सुवि॒ताय॑ देव॒ क्षां विश्वे॑भिर॒मृते॑भिर्यजत्र ॥ (३)
हे अग्नि! तुम समस्त रोगों के साथ-साथ अग्निहोत्र न करने वाले लोगों को भी हमसे दूर कर दो. हे प्रकाशमान एवं यज्ञ के योग्य अग्नि! तुम अन्य समस्त देवों के साथ आकर हमें यज्ञ में उत्तम फल दो. (३)
O fire! You should remove from us all diseases as well as those who do not commit fire. O light and fire worthy of yajna! You come with all the other gods and give us the best fruit in the yajna. (3)

पा॒हि नो॑ अग्ने पा॒युभि॒रज॑स्रैरु॒त प्रि॒ये सद॑न॒ आ शु॑शु॒क्वान् । मा ते॑ भ॒यं ज॑रि॒तारं॑ यविष्ठ नू॒नं वि॑द॒न्माप॒रं स॑हस्वः ॥ (४)
हे अग्नि! सदैव आश्रय देकर हमारा पालन करो एवं अपने प्रिय यज्ञस्थल में सब ओर से प्रकाशित बनो. हे अतिशय एवं शक्तिशाली अग्नि! तुम्हारे स्तोता मुझको आज या इसके बाद कभी भी भय न लगे. (४)
O fire! Always follow us with shelter and be illuminated from all sides in your beloved place of sacrifice. O great and powerful fire! Your stotas will never scare me today or after. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
मा नो॑ अ॒ग्नेऽव॑ सृजो अ॒घाया॑वि॒ष्यवे॑ रि॒पवे॑ दु॒च्छुना॑यै । मा द॒त्वते॒ दश॑ते॒ मादते॑ नो॒ मा रीष॑ते सहसाव॒न्परा॑ दाः ॥ (५)
हे अग्नि! हमें हिंसक, भूखे और दुःखदाता शत्रु के अधीन मत होने दो. हमें दांत वाले कटखने सर्पादि, बिना दांत के, सींग वाले पशुओं एवं हिंसक राक्षसों को भी मत सौंपो. (५)
O fire! Don't let us submit to a violent, hungry and grieving enemy. Don't even hand us over the toothed to the toothed snakes, toothless, horned animals and violent monsters. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
वि घ॒ त्वावा॑ँ ऋतजात यंसद्गृणा॒नो अ॑ग्ने त॒न्वे॒३॒॑ वरू॑थम् । विश्वा॑द्रिरि॒क्षोरु॒त वा॑ निनि॒त्सोर॑भि॒ह्रुता॒मसि॒ हि दे॑व वि॒ष्पट् ॥ (६)
हे यज्ञ से उत्पन्न एवं वरणीय अग्नि देव! जो लोग शरीर की पुष्टि के लिए तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं, उन्हें तुम हिंसक, चोर आदि एवं निंदक लोगों से बचाते हो. तुम अपने सामने कुटिल आचरण करने वाले के बाधक बनो. (६)
O God of fire born of yajna and divine! Those who praise you for confirming the body, you protect them from violent, thieves, etc. and blasphemous people. You become the obstacle of the one who conducts deviously in front of you. (6)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
त्वं ताँ अ॑ग्न उ॒भया॒न्वि वि॒द्वान्वेषि॑ प्रपि॒त्वे मनु॑षो यजत्र । अ॒भि॒पि॒त्वे मन॑वे॒ शास्यो॑ भूर्मर्मृ॒जेन्य॑ उ॒शिग्भि॒र्नाक्रः ॥ (७)
हे यज्ञ के योग्य अग्नि! तुम यज्ञ करने वाले एवं न करने वाले दोनों को जानते हुए यज्ञकर्ताओं की ही कामना करी. हे आक्रमणकारी अग्नि! यज्ञ की अभिलाषा करने वाले यजमान को जिस प्रकार ऋत्विज् शिक्षा देते हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम यजमान की शिक्षा के पात्र बनो. (७)
O fire worthy of yajna! You wished for the yajnakars, knowing both the yagyas and the ones who did not. O invading fire! Just as the ritwijs teach the host who desires to perform the yajna, so be worthy of the host's teaching. (7)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 1)
अवो॑चाम नि॒वच॑नान्यस्मि॒न्मान॑स्य सू॒नुः स॑हसा॒ने अ॒ग्नौ । व॒यं स॒हस्र॒मृषि॑भिः सनेम वि॒द्यामे॒षं वृ॒जनं॑ जी॒रदा॑नुम् ॥ (८)
मंत्रों के पुत्र और शत्रुओं के नाशक अग्नि को लक्ष्य करके ये सब स्तोत्र बनाए गए हैं. हम इंद्रियों से परे रहने वाले अर्थ के प्रकाशक इन मंत्रों से हजारों प्रकार के धन के अतिरिक्त अन्न, बल और दीर्घ आयु प्राप्त करें. (८)
All these hymns have been made by targeting the son of mantras and the destructive fire of the enemies. We receive from these mantras, the publishers of meaning living beyond the senses, the addition of thousands of kinds of wealth to the grain, strength and long life. (8)
