ऋग्वेद (मंडल 2)
त्वम॑ग्ने॒ द्युभि॒स्त्वमा॑शुशु॒क्षणि॒स्त्वम॒द्भ्यस्त्वमश्म॑न॒स्परि॑ । त्वं वने॑भ्य॒स्त्वमोष॑धीभ्य॒स्त्वं नृ॒णां नृ॑पते जायसे॒ शुचिः॑ ॥ (१)
हे मनुष्यों के पालक एवं पवित्र अग्नि! तुम यज्ञ के दिन जल, पाषाण, वन एवं ओषधियों से दीप्तिशाली रूप में उत्पन्न हो जाओ. (१)
O father of men and holy agni! You may be born in a radiant form from water, stone, forest and herbs on the day of the yagna. (1)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 2)
तवा॑ग्ने हो॒त्रं तव॑ पो॒त्रमृ॒त्वियं॒ तव॑ ने॒ष्ट्रं त्वम॒ग्निदृ॑ताय॒तः । तव॑ प्रशा॒स्त्रं त्वम॑ध्वरीयसि ब्र॒ह्मा चासि॑ गृ॒हप॑तिश्च नो॒ दमे॑ ॥ (२)
हे अग्नि! यज्ञ के होता, पोता, ऋत्विज् और नेष्टा जो कर्म करते हैं, वह तुम्हारा है. तुम अग्नीध्र हो. यज्ञ की इच्छा करने पर तुम प्रशास्ता का काम भी करने लगते हो. तुम्हीं अध्वर्यु एवं ब्रह्मा हो. मेरे इस यज्ञगृह में तुम्हीं गृहपति हो. (२)
O agni! The deeds of yajna, the grandson, the ritwija and the neshta do, is yours. You are ignorant. If you desire to perform the yajna, you also start doing the work of the administrator. You are Adhwaryu and Brahma. You are the homeowner in this sacrificial house of mine. (2)

त्वम॑ग्न॒ इन्द्रो॑ वृष॒भः स॒ताम॑सि॒ त्वं विष्णु॑रुरुगा॒यो न॑म॒स्यः॑ । त्वं ब्र॒ह्मा र॑यि॒विद्ब्र॑ह्मणस्पते॒ त्वं वि॑धर्तः सचसे॒ पुरं॑ध्या ॥ (३)
हे अग्नि! सज्जनों की मनोकामना पूर्ण करने के कारण तुम इंद्र हो. तुम्हीं बहुत से भक्तों द्वारा स्तुत एवं नमस्कार करने योग्य विष्णु हो. तुम मंत्रों के पालक एवं धनों के ज्ञाता ब्रह्मा हो. तुम विविध पदार्थो का निर्माण करते एवं सबकी बुद्धियों में निवास करते हो. (३)
O agni! You are Indra because of fulfilling the wishes of gentlemen. You are a Vishnu worthy of being praised and greeted by many devotees. You are brahma, the guardian of mantras and the knower of wealth. You create various things and dwell in the intellects of all. (3)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 2)
त्वम॑ग्ने॒ राजा॒ वरु॑णो धृ॒तव्र॑त॒स्त्वं मि॒त्रो भ॑वसि द॒स्म ईड्यः॑ । त्वम॑र्य॒मा सत्प॑ति॒र्यस्य॑ स॒म्भुजं॒ त्वमंशो॑ वि॒दथे॑ देव भाज॒युः ॥ (४)
हे अग्नि! तुम व्रतधारी राजा वरुण एवं स्तुतियोग्य शत्रुनाशक मित्र हो. तुम्हीं सज्जनों के रक्षक एवं व्यापक दान वाले अर्यमा तथा अंश अर्थात् सूर्य हो. तुम सभी का यज्ञ सफल बनाओ. (४)
O agni! You are the fasting king Varuna and the praiseworthy enemy friend. You are the protector of the gentlemen and the widely donated aryama and ansh i.e. the sun. Make the sacrifice of all of you successful. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 2)
त्वम॑ग्ने॒ त्वष्टा॑ विध॒ते सु॒वीर्यं॒ तव॒ ग्नावो॑ मित्रमहः सजा॒त्य॑म् । त्वमा॑शु॒हेमा॑ ररिषे॒ स्वश्व्यं॒ त्वं न॒रां शर्धो॑ असि पुरू॒वसुः॑ ॥ (५)
हे अग्नि! तुम सेवा करने वाले के लिए शक्तिशाली त्वष्टा हो. सब स्तुति वचन तुम्हारे ही हैं. तुम हितकारक तेज एवं हमारे बंधु हो. तुम शीघ्र प्रेरणा देने वाले एवं शोभन अश्वयुक्त धन दाता हो. तुम अत्यंत धनवान् हो. तुम मनुष्यों को शक्ति दो. (५)
O agni! You are a powerful element to the service-doer. All the words of praise are yours. You are beneficial fast and our brothers. You are a quick-inspiring and a wealthy cash-giver. You are extremely wealthy. Give power to men. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 2)
त्वम॑ग्ने रु॒द्रो असु॑रो म॒हो दि॒वस्त्वं शर्धो॒ मारु॑तं पृ॒क्ष ई॑शिषे । त्वं वातै॑ररु॒णैर्या॑सि शंग॒यस्त्वं पू॒षा वि॑ध॒तः पा॑सि॒ नु त्मना॑ ॥ (६)
हे अग्नि! तुम विस्तृत आकाश में वर्तमान रुद्र हो. तुम्हीं मरुतों के बल एवं अन्न के स्वामी हो. तुम वायु के समान वेगशाली लाल घोड़ों द्वारा सुखपूर्वक जाते हो. तुम पूषा हो, इसलिए यज्ञ करने वालों की अपने आप रक्षा करो. (६)
O agni! You are the present Rudra in the wide sky. You are the master of the strength of the maruts and the lord of the grain. You go happily by red horses as fast as the wind. You are a worshiper, so protect those who perform yajna on your own. (6)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 2)
त्वम॑ग्ने द्रविणो॒दा अ॑रं॒कृते॒ त्वं दे॒वः स॑वि॒ता र॑त्न॒धा अ॑सि । त्वं भगो॑ नृपते॒ वस्व॑ ईशिषे॒ त्वं पा॒युर्दमे॒ यस्तेऽवि॑धत् ॥ (७)
हे अग्नि! तुम पर्याप्त यज्ञकर्म करने वाले यजमान को स्वर्ण देने वाले हो. तुम्हीं रत्न धारण करने वाले तेजस्वी सविता हो. हे मनुष्यों के पालनकर्ता अग्नि! जो तुम्हारी सेवा करते हैं, उन्हें तुम धन देते हो. यज्ञशाला में जो यजमान तुम्हारी सेवा करता है, उसका तुम पालन करते हो. (७)
O agni! You are going to give gold to the host who performs enough yajnakarma. You are the stunning Savita wearing the gemstone. O agni, the lord of men! To those who serve you, you give money. You obey the host who serves you in the yajnashala. (7)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 2)
त्वाम॑ग्ने॒ दम॒ आ वि॒श्पतिं॒ विश॒स्त्वां राजा॑नं सुवि॒दत्र॑मृञ्जते । त्वं विश्वा॑नि स्वनीक पत्यसे॒ त्वं स॒हस्रा॑णि श॒ता दश॒ प्रति॑ ॥ (८)
हे अग्नि! तुम यजमानों के पालनकर्ता हो. वे तुम्हें अपने घर में प्रकाशमान एवं अनुकूल चेतना वाला पाकर सुशोभित करते हैं. हे उत्तम सेवा वाले एवं समस्त हव्यों के स्वामी अग्नि! तुम हजारों, सैकड़ों और दसियों प्रकार के फल लोगों को देते हो. (८)
O agni! You are the lord of the hosts. They adorn you with a bright and friendly consciousness in your home. O agni, the best of service and the lord of all things! You give thousands, hundreds and tens of kinds of fruits to people. (8)
