ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
इन्द्रा॑य॒ साम॑ गायत॒ विप्रा॑य बृह॒ते बृ॒हत् । ध॒र्म॒कृते॑ विप॒श्चिते॑ पन॒स्यवे॑ ॥ (१)
हे उदगाताओ! मेधावी, महान्, यज्ञकर्मकर्तता, विद्वान् एवं स्तोत्रों के अभिलाषी इंद्र को बृहत् साम गाकर सुनाओ. (१)
O ugatao! Sing a great sum to indra, the bright, the great, the seeker of the yagnakarta, the scholar and the desire of the hymns. (1)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
त्वमि॑न्द्राभि॒भूर॑सि॒ त्वं सूर्य॑मरोचयः । वि॒श्वक॑र्मा वि॒श्वदे॑वो म॒हाँ अ॑सि ॥ (२)
हे इंद्र! तुम शत्रुओं को हराने वाले हो. तुमने सूर्य को तेजस्वी बनाया है. तुम विश्वकर्मा, विश्वेदेव एवं महान् हो. (२)
O Indra! You are going to defeat the enemies. You have made the sun bright. You are Vishwakarma, Vishvadev and Great. (2)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
वि॒भ्राज॒ञ्ज्योति॑षा॒ स्व१॒॑रग॑च्छो रोच॒नं दि॒वः । दे॒वास्त॑ इन्द्र स॒ख्याय॑ येमिरे ॥ (३)
हे इंद्र! तुम अपनी ज्योति द्वारा सूर्य के प्रकाशक बनकर स्वर्ग को दीप्तिशाली बनाने गए थे. देवों ने तुम्हारी मित्रता के लिए प्रयत्न किया था. (३)
O Indra! You went to make heaven radiant by becoming the illuminator of the sun through your light. The gods tried for your friendship. (3)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
एन्द्र॑ नो गधि प्रि॒यः स॑त्रा॒जिदगो॑ह्यः । गि॒रिर्न वि॒श्वत॑स्पृ॒थुः पति॑र्दि॒वः ॥ (४)
हे प्रियतम, महान् लोगों को जीतने वाले, किसी के द्वारा न छिपने वाले, पर्वत के समान चारों ओर विस्तृत एवं स्वर्ग के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम हमारे पास आओ. (४)
O beloved, the conqueror of the great people, who is not hidden by anyone, wide around like a mountain and the lord of heaven Indra! You come to us. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
अ॒भि हि स॑त्य सोमपा उ॒भे ब॒भूथ॒ रोद॑सी । इन्द्रासि॑ सुन्व॒तो वृ॒धः पति॑र्दि॒वः ॥ (५)
हे सत्यरूप वाले एवं सोमपानकर्ता इंद्र! तुमने द्यावा-पृथिवी को पराजित किया है. तुम सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले के वर्धक एवं स्वर्ग के स्वामी हो. (५)
O Indra, the one of truth and the doomshak! You have defeated Dyava-Prithvivi. You are the enhancer of the somras squeezer and the master of heaven. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
त्वं हि शश्व॑तीना॒मिन्द्र॑ द॒र्ता पु॒रामसि॑ । ह॒न्ता दस्यो॒र्मनो॑र्वृ॒धः पति॑र्दि॒वः ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! तुम शत्रुओं की अनेक नगरियों को तोड़ने वाले हो. तुम दस्युजनों के हंता, मनुष्यों को बढ़ाने वाले और स्वर्ग के स्वामी हो. (६)
O Indra! You are going to break many cities of enemies. You are the heirs of bandits, the ones who raise men, and the masters of heaven. (6)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
अधा॒ ही॑न्द्र गिर्वण॒ उप॑ त्वा॒ कामा॑न्म॒हः स॑सृ॒ज्महे॑ । उ॒देव॒ यन्त॑ उ॒दभिः॑ ॥ (७)
हे स्तुति-योग्य इंद्र! जिस प्रकार जलक्रीड़ा करते हुए लोग दूसरों पर जल उछालते हैं, उसी प्रकार हम महान् एवं चाहने योग्य स्तोत्र तुम्हारी ओर भेजते हैं. (७)
O you praise-worthy Indra! Just as people throw water at others while doing water sports, so we send great and desirable hymns to you. (7)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 8)
वार्ण त्वा॑ य॒व्याभि॒र्वर्ध॑न्ति शूर॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि । वा॒वृ॒ध्वांसं॑ चिदद्रिवो दि॒वेदि॑वे ॥ (८)
हे शूर एवं वज्रधारी इंद्र! जिस प्रकार नदियां जल से सागर को बढ़ाती हैं, उसी प्रकार स्तोता तुम्हें बढ़ाते हैं. तुम स्तोत्रों द्वारा बढ़ने वाले हो. (८)
O Shur and Vajradhari Indra! Just as rivers raise the ocean with water, so do the hymns increase you. You're going to grow by hymns. (8)
