स पू॒र्व्यः प॑वते॒ यं दि॒वस्परि॑ श्ये॒नो म॑था॒यदि॑षि॒तस्ति॒रो रजः॑ । स मध्व॒ आ यु॑वते॒ वेवि॑जान॒ इत्कृ॒शानो॒रस्तु॒र्मन॒साह॑ बि॒भ्युषा॑ ॥ (२)
प्राचीन सोम निचुड़ते हैं. अपनी माता के द्वारा भेजा हुआ बाज पक्षी सोम को स्वर्ग से लाया था. सोम अपने मधुर रस को तीनों लोकों से अलग करते हैं. कृशानु नाम वाले धनुषधारी के बाणों से डरकर सोम इधर-उधर जाते हुए मधुर रस के साथ मिलते हैं. (२)
The ancient mons are nichud. The hawk bird sent by his mother had brought Som from heaven. Mon separates his sweet juice from the three lokas. Afraid of the arrows of a bow-bearing named Krishnanu, Som goes around and meets with sweet juice. (2)
