सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
अपादु शिप्रयन्धसः सुदक्षस्य प्रहोषिणः । इन्द्रोरिन्द्रो यवाशिरः ॥ (१)
हे इंद्र! आप सुंदर ठोड़ी वाले और सुंदर मुकुट धारण करने वाले हैं. यजमान हवि देने में विशेष कुशल हैं. आप ने दूध और जौ से बनाए हुए सोमरस को ग्रहण किया. (१)
O Indra! You are going to have a beautiful chin and a beautiful crown. The hosts are particularly skilled in giving havi. You took somers made from milk and barley. (1)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
इमा उ त्वा पुरुवसोऽभि प्र नोनवुर्गिरः । गावो वत्सं न धेनवः ॥ (२)
हे इंद्र! आप अनेक प्रकार के वैभव वाले हैं. हमारी स्तुतियां बारबार आप के पास उसी तरह आना चाहती हैं, जैसे दूध वाली गाएं बारबार बछड़ों की ओर आती हैं. (२)
O Indra! You are of many kinds of splendour. Our praises want to come to you again and again, just as milk cows come to calves again and again. (2)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
अत्राह गोरमन्वत नाम त्वष्टुरपीच्यम् । इत्था चन्द्रमसो गृहे ॥ (३)
गतिमान चंद्र मंडल में सूर्य का दिव्य तेज है, ऐसा विद्वान् मानते हैं अर्थात् सूर्य के छिप जाने पर उन्हीं के प्रकाश से चंद्रमा प्रकाशित होता है. (३)
Scholars believe that there is a divine radiance of the sun in the moving lunar system, that is, when the sun is hidden, the moon is illuminated by their light. (3)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
यदिन्द्रो अनयद्रितो महीरपो वृषन्तमः । तत्र पूषाभुवत्सचा ॥ (४)
हे इंद्र! आप बहुत बरसात के रूप में जल प्रवाहित करते हैं, इस लोक तक पहुंचाते हैं तब पूषा देवता आप के सहायक होते हैं. वे पोषण करने में समर्थ देवता हैं. (४)
O Indra! You flow water in the form of a lot of rain, deliver it to this world, then The Pusha Devta is your helper. He is a god capable of nourishing. (4)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
गौर्धयति मरुताँ श्रवस्युर्माता मघोनाम् । युक्ता वह्नी रथानाम् ॥ (५)
पृथ्वी माता धनसंपन्न हैं. वे मरुतों के रथ में जुड़ी हुई हैं. वे सब ओर पूजित हैं. वे अन्न आदि उत्पन्न कर के अपने पुत्रों का पालनपोषण करती हैं. (५)
Mother Earth is rich. They are connected in the chariot of maruts. They are worshipped everywhere. They raise their sons by producing food etc. (5)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
उप नो हरिभिः सुतं याहि मदानां पते । उप नो हरिभिः सुतम् ॥ (६)
हे इंद्र! आप सोम के स्वामी हैं. हम ने आप के लिए सोमरस निचोड़ कर रखा है. आप अपने हजारों घोड़ों से (सहित या माध्यम से) हमारे इस यज्ञ में पधारिए. आप जल्दी और बारबार पधारिए. (६)
O Indra! You are the master of Mon. We've kept squeezing somers for you. You come to our yagna with thousands of your horses (including or through). Come quickly and again and again. (6)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
इष्टा होत्रा असृक्षतेन्द्रं वृधन्तो अध्वरे । अच्छावभृथमोजसा ॥ (७)
हे इंद्र! हम यजमान बारबार आप की स्तुति करते हैं. हम अपने तेज से यज्ञ खत्म होने पर होने वाले स्नान तक बारबार आप के लिए आहुति प्रदान करते हैं. (७)
O Indra! We hosts praise you again and again. We offer sacrifices for you again and again till the bath that takes place at the end of the yajna with our brilliance. (7)
सामवेद (अध्याय 2)
अहमिद्धि पितुष्परि मेधामृतस्य जग्रह । अहँ सूर्य इवाजनि ॥ (८)
हे इंद्र! आप पालनकर्ता हैं. हम ने आप की बुद्धि को अपनी ओर आकर्षित कर लिया है. यानी हम ने आप की कृपा प्राप्त कर ली है. अब हम सूर्य देव के समान प्रकाशित हो गए हैं. (८)
O Indra! You are the follower. We have attracted your intellect towards us. That is, we have received your grace. Now we are illuminated like the Sun God. (8)
