यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 1)
वसोः॑ प॒वित्र॑मसि श॒तधा॑रं॒ वसोः॑ प॒वित्र॑मसि स॒हस्र॑धारम्। दे॒वस्त्वा॑ सवि॒ता पु॑नातु॒ वसोः॑ प॒वित्रे॑ण श॒तधा॑रेण सु॒प्वा काम॑धुक्षः ॥ (३)
आप पवित्र बसु, सैकड़ों, हजार धाराओं वाले व पवित्र करने वाले हैं. हे मनुष्यो! सविता देव पवित्र करने बाले हैं. वे अपनी सैकड़ों धाराओं से आप को पवित्र बनाने की कृपा करें. आप इस के बाद और किस कामधेनु को दुहना चाहते हैं? अर्थात् उन की इतनी कृपा हो जाने के बाद और किस कामना की पूर्ति बाकी रह जाती है. (३)
You are the holy Basu, the one of hundreds, thousands of streams and the one who purifies. O men! Savita Dev is a purifying child. Please make you holy with their hundreds of streams. Which other kamdhenu do you want to milk after this? That is, after they are so pleased, what other wish remains to be fulfilled. (3)
