यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 34)
हिर॑ण्यहस्तो॒ऽअसु॑रः सुनी॒थः सु॑मृडी॒कः स्ववाँ॑ यात्व॒र्वाङ्।अ॒प॒सेध॑न् र॒क्षसो॑ यातु॒धाना॒नस्था॑द् दे॒वः प्र॑तिदो॒षं गृ॑णा॒नः ॥ (२६)
सूर्य सोने के हाथों (सुनहरे) वाले हैं. वे प्राणदाता, कल्याणदाता, उत्तम सुखदाता व प्रकाशवान हैं. वे दोषहारक राक्षसों व दुष्टों के नाशक हैं. वे हमारे अनुकूल होने की कृपा करें. (२६)
The sun has gold hands (golden). They are the giver, the giver of welfare, the best of happiness and the light. They are the destroyers of demons and evil. May they please be friendly to us. (26)
