इंद्र का रथ पहला, देवों का दूसरा और वरुण का तीसरा है. सर्पो का रथ अपमा अर्थात् निम्न गतिशील नामक है, जो स्थाणु अर्थात् सूखे वृक्षों से अधिक रमणीय है एवं तेज चलता है. (१)
Indra's chariot is the first, the second of the Devas and the third of Varuna. The chariot of serpents is called Apma i.e. low dynamic, which is more delightful than Sthanu i.e. dry trees and moves fast. (1)
दर्भ सर्पो को शोक देने वाला है, यह तरुणक एवं अश्व नामक सर्पो के विष का निरोधक है. परुष नामक सर्प के विष का निवारण करने वाला दर्भ रथ का बाधक है. (२)
Darbha is going to mourn the serpent, it is the prevention of the poison of snakes called Young and Horse. The darbha, which removes the poison of a snake called Parush, is the obstacle of the chariot. (2)
हे श्वैतपद! तू अपने अगले एवं पिछले पैरों के द्वारा सर्पो का विनाश कर. गिरता हुआ काष्ठ जिस प्रकार शक्ति से हीन हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार सर्प विष प्रभावहीन हो जाता है. हे दर्भ! तू इस भयानक सर्प विष का निवारण कर. (३)
O shvaitapad! Destroy serpents with your front and back feet. Just as falling wood becomes inferior to power, in the same way snake venom becomes ineffective. O darbh! You remove this terrible snake poison. (3)
अरंघुष नाम की ओषधि ने पानी में डुबकी लगाई और ऊपर आ कर कहा कि जिस प्रकार गिरता हुआ काष्ठ शक्तिहीन होता है, उसी प्रकार सर्पो का विष भी प्रभावहीन हो जाए. हे कुश! तू इस भयानक सर्प विष का निवारण कर. (४)
A medicine named Aranghu took a dip in the water and came up and said that just as the falling wood is powerless, similarly the venom of the serpents should also become ineffective. O Kush! You remove this terrible snake poison. (4)
पैद्व नामक ओषधि कसर्णील नामक सर्प को, श्वेत सर्प को और काले सर्प को नष्ट करती है. पैद्ध ने रथर्व्या और पृदाकू नामक नागों का सिर तोड़ दिया था. (५)
A medicine called Padwa destroys a snake called Kasarnil, a white snake and a black snake. Paddha broke the heads of serpents named Rathrvya and Pridaku. (5)
संय॑तं॒ न वि ष्प॑र॒द्व्यात्तं॒ न सं य॑मत् । अ॒स्मिन्क्षेत्रे॒ द्वावही॒ स्त्री च॒ पुमां॑श्च॒ तावु॒भाव॑र॒सा ॥ (८)
सर्प का बंद मुख हमें डसने के लिए न खुले. इस क्षेत्र में निवास करने वाले नर और मादा सर्प अर्थात् सांप और सांपिन मंत्र की शक्ति से शक्तिहीन हो जाएं. (८)
