अथर्ववेद: | सूक्त: 5
अ॒पाम॑स्मै॒ वज्रं॒ प्र ह॑रामि॒ चतु॑र्भृष्टिं शीर्षभिद्याय वि॒द्वान् । सो अ॒स्याङ्गा॑नि॒ प्र शृ॑णातु॒ सर्वा॒ तन्मे॑ दे॒वा अनु॑ जानन्तु॒ विश्वे॑ ॥ (५०)
इन मंत्रों को जानने वाला मैं इस शत्रु का सिर तोड़ने के लिए उस वज्र का प्रहार करता हूं, जो जलों के चारों ओर विनाश करने वाला है. वह वज्र इस शत्रु के सभी अंगों को काट दे. मेरा यह कर्म समस्त देव अनुकूलता से जानें अर्थात्‌ उचित समझें. (५०)
I, who know these mantras, strike the thunderbolt to break the head of this enemy, which is going to destroy around the waters. May that thunderbolt cut off all the limbs of this enemy. All gods should know this deed of mine favorably, that is, consider it appropriate. (50)
