अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
अति॑सृष्टो अ॒पांवृ॑ष॒भोऽति॑सृष्टा अ॒ग्नयो॑ दि॒व्याः ॥ (१)
जलों में जो वृषभ के समान जल है वह मुक्त हुआ है और दिव्य अग्नियां मुक्त हुई हैं. (१)
The water that is like Taurus in the waters has been liberated and the divine agnis have been liberated. (1)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
रु॒जन्प॑रिरु॒जन्मृ॒णन्प्र॑मृ॒णन् ॥ (२)
भंग करने वाला, विनाशक, पलायन करने वाला, मन को दबाने वाला, दाह उत्पन्न करने वाला, खोदने से प्राप्त होने वाला और देह को दूषित करने वाला जो जल है, उस से अपने शत्रुओं को युक्त करता हुआ मैं उस का त्याग करता हूं. मैं स्वयं उस का स्पर्श नहीं करूंगा. (२)
I give up the water that is disturbing, destroying, migrating, suppressing the mind, causing inflammation, getting from digging and contaminating the body, combining my enemies with it. I won't touch that myself. (2)

म्रो॒को म॑नो॒हाख॒नो नि॑र्दा॒ह आ॑त्म॒दूषि॑स्तनू॒दूषिः॑ ॥ (३)
भंग करने वाला, विनाशक, पलायन करने वाला, मन को दबाने वाला, दाह उत्पन्न करने वाला, खोदने से प्राप्त होने वाला और देह को दूषित करने वाला जो जल है, उस से अपने शत्रुओं को युक्त करता हुआ मैं उस का त्याग करता हूं. मैं स्वयं उस का स्पर्श नहीं करूंगा. (३)

अ॒पामग्र॑मसिसमु॒द्रं वो॒ऽभ्यव॑सृजामि ॥ (६)
हे जलों के श्रेष्ठ भाग! मैं तुम्हें सागर की ओर प्रेरित करता हूं. (६)
O great part of the waters! I inspire you towards the ocean. (6)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
यो॒प्स्वग्निरति॒ तं सृ॑जामि म्रो॒कं ख॒निं त॑नू॒दूषि॑म् ॥ (७)
शरीर के बल का अपहरण कर के जलों के भीतर ले जाने वाले अग्नि का भी मैं त्याग करता हूं. (७)
I also sacrifice the agni that hijacks the force of the body and takes it inside the waters. (7)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
यो व॑ आपो॒ऽग्निरा॑वि॒वेश॒ स ए॒ष यद्वो॑ घो॒रं तदे॒तत् ॥ (८)
हे जल! जो अग्ने तुम में प्रविष्ट हुई है वह तुम्हारा भयानक भाग है. (८)
O water! What has entered you is your terrible part. (8)
