अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
अजै॑ष्मा॒द्यास॑नामा॒द्याभू॒मना॑गसो व॒यम् ॥ (१)
हम आज विजय प्राप्त करें. हम आज खाद्य पदार्थ प्राप्त करें. आज हम पाप रहित हो जाएं. (१)
Let us win today. We get foods today. Today let us become sin-free. (1)

उ॒षोयस्मा॑द्दुः॒ष्वप्न्या॒दभै॒ष्माप॒ तदु॑च्छतु ॥ (२)
हे उषा देवी! जिस बुरे स्वप्र से हम डरते हैं, वह बुरा स्वप्र समाप्त हो जाए. (२)
O Usha Devi! The bad self that we are afraid of, that bad self-love will end. (2)

द्वि॑ष॒तेतत्परा॑ वह॒ शप॑ते॒ तत्परा॑ वह ॥ (३)
हे देव! आप उसे भय को प्राप्त कराएं जो हमसे द्वेष करता है तथा हमारी निन्दा करता है. (३)
O God! May you get the fear that hates us and condemns us. (3)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
यं द्वि॒ष्मोयश्च॑ नो॒ द्वेष्टि॒ तस्मा॑ एनद्गमयामः ॥ (४)
हम जिससे द्वेष करते हैं और जो हमसे द्वेष करता है, हम इस भय को उस के पास भेजते हैं. (४)
To the one we hate and to the one who hates us, we send this fear to him. (4)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
उ॒षा दे॒वी वा॒चासं॑विदा॒ना वाग्दे॒व्युषसा॑ संविदा॒ना ॥ (५)
उषा देवी वाणी के साथ और वाणी की देवी उषा के साथ एकमत स्थापित करें. (५)
Establish consensus with Usha Devi Vani and Goddess of Speech with Usha. (5)

उ॒षस्पति॑र्वा॒चस्पति॑ना संविदा॒नो वा॒चस्पति॑रु॒षस्पति॑ना संविदा॒नः ॥ (६)
उषा के पति वाचस्पति अर्थात् वाणी के स्वामी के साथ तथा वाचस्पति उषा देवी के पति के साथ एकमत स्थापित करें. (६)
Establish a consensus with Usha's husband Vachaspati i.e. the swami of speech and with vachaspati Usha Devi's husband. (6)
अथर्ववेद (कांड 16)
ते॒ऽमुष्मै॒परा॑ वहन्त्व॒राया॑न्दु॒र्णाम्नः॑ स॒दान्वाः॑ ॥ (७)
वे इस दुष्ट शत्रु के लिए दूषित नाम वाले दुःखों को, आपत्तियों को घड़े के समान बढ़ने वाले उदर रोगों को, शरीर के दूषित रोगों को तथा प्राणघातक रोगों को प्राप्त कराएं. (७)
They should get the sorrows with contaminated names for this evil enemy, the objections to the abdominal diseases growing like a pitcher, the contaminated diseases of the body and the deadly diseases. (7)

कु॒म्भीका॑दू॒षीकाः॒ पीय॑कान् ॥ (८)
वे इस दुष्ट शत्रु के लिए दूषित नाम वाले दुःखों को, आपत्तियों को घड़े के समान बढ़ने वाले उदर रोगों को, शरीर के दूषित रोगों को तथा प्राणघातक रोगों को प्राप्त कराएं. (८)
