हे वर्षा करने वाले इंद्र! सोम के निचोड़ लिए जाने पर एवं शुद्ध हो जाने पर हम उसे पीने के लिए तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. उस हर्षदायक सोम को पी कर तुम तृप्त बनो. तुम उस प्रसन्न करने वाले सोम रस को विशेष रूप से प्राप्त करो. (१)
O Indra, the one who rains! When the som is squeezed and purified, we invite you to drink it. You become satisfied by drinking that joyful som. You get that pleasing som juice specially. (1)
मा त्वा॑ मू॒रा अ॑वि॒ष्यवो॒ मोप॒हस्वा॑न॒ आ द॑भन् । माकीं॑ ब्रह्म॒द्विषो॑ वनः ॥ (२)
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारी कृपा से हम अपने पालन की इच्छा करते हैं. अपनी रक्षा का उपाय न जानते हुए मूर्ख तुम्हारी हिंसा न करें. जो ब्राह्मणों से द्वेष करने वाले हैं, तुम उन की सेवा को स्वीकार मत करो. (२)
O Indra! By your grace we wish to follow us. Fools should not violence you without knowing the way to protect you. Don't accept the service of those who hate Brahmins. (2)
हे इंद्र! ऋत्विज् धन प्राप्ति के लिए तुम्हें गाय के दूध से मिश्रित सोमरस दे कर प्रसन्न करें. गौर मृग अत्यधिक प्यासा होने पर जिस प्रकार जल पीता है, तुम उसी प्रकार सोमरस को पियो. (३)
O Indra! To get ridvij wealth, please you by giving memaras mixed with cow's milk. Just as the gaur antelope drinks water when it is very thirsty, you drink someras in the same way. (3)
