अथर्ववेद (कांड 20)
ब॒र्हिर्वा॒ यत्स्व॑प॒त्याय॑ वृ॒ज्यते॒ऽर्को वा॒ श्लोक॑मा॒घोष॑ते दि॒वि । ग्रावा॒ यत्र॒ वद॑ति का॒रुरु॒क्थ्यस्तस्येदिन्द्रो॑ अभिपि॒त्वेषु॑ रण्यति ॥ (६)
सुंदर संतान रूप फल को पाने के लिए यज्ञ में कुशाएं बिछाई जाती हैं. वाणी के रूप में यज्ञ के जिस स्तोत्र का उच्चारण किया जाता है तथा जिस यज्ञ में सोम को कूटने वाला पत्थर स्तोता के समान शब्द करता है, वहां इंद्र विराजमान होते हैं. (६)
Kushas are laid in the yajna to get the fruits of beautiful children. In the form of speech, the stotra of yajna is pronounced and in the yajna in which the stone crushing Soma makes the same words as the stota, Indra is seated there. (6)
