अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
वि॑ष्टा॒रिण॑मोद॒नं ये पच॑न्ति॒ नैना॒नव॑र्तिः सचते क॒दा च॒न । आस्ते॑ य॒म उप॑ याति दे॒वान्त्सं ग॑न्ध॒र्वैर्म॑दते सो॒म्येभिः॑ ॥ (३)
जो यजमान बताई हुई रीति से विस्तृत अवयवों वाले बह्मौदन को पकाते हैं, उन के समीप दरिद्रता कभी नहीं आती. वह यजमान देहांत के पश्चात यमराज के द्वारा पूजित हो कर सुख से निवास करता है तथा यम की अनुमति पा कर देवों के समीप पहुंचता है. वह सोमरस के योग्य विश्वावसु आदि गंधर्वो के साथ प्रसन्न रहता है. (३)
Poverty never comes near the hosts who cook bahmoudan with wide ingredients in the manner mentioned. After the death of the host, worshiped by Yamraj, he lives happily and after getting the permission of Yama, he reaches near the gods. He is pleased with Vishwavasu adi Gandharva, worthy of Someras.
