अथर्ववेद (कांड 4)
यायैः॑ परि॒नृत्य॑त्या॒ददा॑ना कृ॒तं ग्लहा॑त् । सा नः॑ कृ॒तानि॑ सीष॒ती प्र॒हामा॑प्नोतु मा॒यया॑ । सा नः॒ पय॑स्व॒त्यैतु॒ मा नो॑ जैषुरि॒दं धन॑म् ॥ (३)
जो अप्सरा जुए में जीते गए धन को 'यह मेरा है' कह कर अधिकार में कर लेती हैं तथा पासों की संख्याओं के द्वारा जुए में जीत कर प्रसन्नतापूर्वक नृत्य करती हैं, वे हमारे कृतों में अर्थात् चार संख्या के दांवों को सोखती हुई पासों को अपनी माया से प्राप्त कर के गाय आदि धन वाली अप्सराएं हमारे समीप आएं. जुए के दांव पर लगा हमारा धन दूसरे न जीत सकें. The apsaras who take possession of the money won in gambling by saying 'this is mine' and dance happily by winning in gambling through the numbers of dice, they should absorb the stakes of four numbers and get the dice from their maya and the nymphs with cow etc. come to us. Others cannot win our money at the gambling stake. (3)
