ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 141
पृ॒क्षो वपुः॑ पितु॒मान्नित्य॒ आ श॑ये द्वि॒तीय॒मा स॒प्तशि॑वासु मा॒तृषु॑ । तृ॒तीय॑मस्य वृष॒भस्य॑ दो॒हसे॒ दश॑प्रमतिं जनयन्त॒ योष॑णः ॥ (२)
यह अग्नि अन्नसाधक, शरीर बढ़ाने वाला एवं हव्य अन्न से युक्त होकर एक रूप में नित्य धरती पर रहता है. दूसरे रूप में सातों लोकों का कल्याण करने वाली वर्षाओं में रहता है. तीसरे रूप में इस कामवर्षी बादल का जल बरसाने के लिए रहता है. इस प्रकार परस्पर मिली हुई दसों दिशाएं इस अग्नि को उत्पन्न करती हैं. (२)
This fire is a granary, body enhancer and rich in human grain and in one form lives on the earth continuously. In the second form lives in the rain that benefits the seven lokas. In the third form this work year remains to rain the water of the cloud. Thus, the ten directions that are interconnected produce this fire. (2)
