परि॒ यदि॑न्द्र॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे अबु॑भोजीर्महि॒ना वि॒श्वतः॑ सीम् । अम॑न्यमानाँ अ॒भि मन्य॑मानै॒र्निर्ब्र॒ह्मभि॑रधमो॒ दस्यु॑मिन्द्र ॥ (९)
हे इंद्र! तुमने अपनी महिमा से धरती और आकाश को व्याप्त करके उनका भली प्रकार भोग किया है. जो यजमान मंत्रों का उच्चारण समझकर केवल पाठ करते थे, मंत्र उन्हें अपना समझकर उनकी रक्षा करते थे. ऐसे मंत्रों द्वारा तुमने उस चोर वृत्र को निकाल दिया. (९)
O Indra! You have permeated the earth and the sky with your glory and enjoyed them well. Those who only recited the host mantras by understanding the pronunciation of mantras, the mantras protected them by taking them as their own. Through such mantras you have removed that thief. (9)
