द्यौश्चि॑द॒स्याम॑वा॒ँ अहेः॑ स्व॒नादयो॑यवीद्भि॒यसा॒ वज्र॑ इन्द्र ते । वृ॒त्रस्य॒ यद्ब॑द्बधा॒नस्य॑ रोदसी॒ मदे॑ सु॒तस्य॒ शव॒साभि॑न॒च्छिरः॑ ॥ (१०)
हे इंद्र! जब निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पीकर तुम अत्यंत हर्षित हो रहे थे, तब तुम्हारे वज्र ने धरती और आकाश में बाधक बनने वाले वृत्र का सिर वेग से काट दिया था. उस समय बलवान्‌ आकाश भी वृत्र के शब्द भय से कांपने लगा था. (१०)
O Indra! When you were getting very happy to drink the squeezed somras, your thunderbolt swiftly cut off the head of the vritra that was a barrier to the earth and the sky. At that time, the strong sky was also trembling with fear in the words of the vritra. (10)
