दि॒वश्चि॑दस्य वरि॒मा वि प॑प्रथ॒ इन्द्रं॒ न म॒ह्ना पृ॑थि॒वी च॒न प्रति॑ । भी॒मस्तुवि॑ष्माञ्चर्ष॒णिभ्य॑ आत॒पः शिशी॑ते॒ वज्रं॒ तेज॑से॒ न वंस॑गः ॥ (१)
इंद्र का प्रभाव आकाश की अपेक्षा अधिक विस्तृत है. पृथ्वी भी इंद्र की महत्ता की समानता नहीं कर सकती. शत्रुओं के लिए भयंकर एवं बुद्धिमान् इंद्र अपने भक्तजनों के निमित्त शत्रुओं को संताप देते हैं. जैसे सांड़ युद्ध के लिए अपने सींग तेज करता है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र अपने वज्र को तेज करने के लिए रगड़ते हैं. Indra's influence is wider than that of the sky. Even the earth cannot equate the importance of Indra. Indra, who is fierce and wise to the enemies, annoys the enemies for the sake of his devotees. Just as the bull sharpens its horns for war, so Indra rubs his thunderbolt to sharpen it. (1)

सो अ॑र्ण॒वो न न॒द्यः॑ समु॒द्रियः॒ प्रति॑ गृभ्णाति॒ विश्रि॑ता॒ वरी॑मभिः । इन्द्रः॒ सोम॑स्य पी॒तये॑ वृषायते स॒नात्स यु॒ध्म ओज॑सा पनस्यते ॥ (२)
आकाश में व्याप्त इंद्र दूर तक फैले हुए जल को उसी प्रकार ग्रहण कर लेते हैं, जिस प्रकार सागर विशाल जलराशि को अपने में समेट लेता है. इंद्र सोमरस पीने के लिए बैल के समान दौड़ कर जाते हैं एवं वे महान् योद्धा चिरकाल से अपने वृत्रवधादिकर्म की प्रशंसा चाहते हैं. (२)
Indra, who is in the sky, receives the water spread far and wide in the same way that the ocean absorbs the vast amount of water. Indra runs like a bull to drink somers and he wants to admire his warriors from time immemorial. (2)

त्वं तमि॑न्द्र॒ पर्व॑तं॒ न भोज॑से म॒हो नृ॒म्णस्य॒ धर्म॑णामिरज्यसि । प्र वी॒र्ये॑ण दे॒वताति॑ चेकिते॒ विश्व॑स्मा उ॒ग्रः कर्म॑णे पु॒रोहि॑तः ॥ (३)
हे इंद्र! तुम अपने उपभोग के लिए मेघ को भिन्न नहीं करते एवं विशाल धन के धारक कुबेरादि पर अधिकार जमाते हो. हम लोग इंद्र को उनकी शक्ति के कारण भली प्रकार जानते हैं. वे इंद्र अपने वृत्रवधादि रूप कार्यो के द्वारा सभी देवों में आगे का स्थान प्राप्त करते हैं. (३)
O Indra! You do not separate the cloud for your own consumption and occupy Kuberadi, the holder of huge wealth. We know Indra very well because of his power. Those Indras attain the forward position among all the gods through their vrithravadadi form works. (3)

स इद्वने॑ नम॒स्युभि॑र्वचस्यते॒ चारु॒ जने॑षु प्रब्रुवा॒ण इ॑न्द्रि॒यम् । वृषा॒ छन्दु॑र्भवति हर्य॒तो वृषा॒ क्षेमे॑ण॒ धेनां॑ म॒घवा॒ यदिन्व॑ति ॥ (४)
स्तोता ऋषि अरण्य में इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं. इंद्र अपने भक्तों में अपने शौर्य को प्रकट करते हुए शोभा पाते हैं. अभीष्ट वर्षा करने वाले इंद्र हव्यदाता यजमान की रक्षा करते हैं. जब यजमान यज्ञ की इच्छा से इंद्र की स्तुति करता है, तभी वे उसे यज्ञ में तत्पर कर देते हैं. (४)
The sage Stota praises Indra in the wilderness. Indra finds adornment in his devotees by manifesting his bravery. Indra Havyadata, who makes the desired rainfall, protects the host. When the host praises Indra with the desire of yajna, only then do they prepare him in the yajna. (4)

स इन्म॒हानि॑ समि॒थानि॑ म॒ज्मना॑ कृ॒णोति॑ यु॒ध्म ओज॑सा॒ जने॑भ्यः । अधा॑ च॒न श्रद्द॑धति॒ त्विषी॑मत॒ इन्द्रा॑य॒ वज्रं॑ नि॒घनि॑घ्नते व॒धम् ॥ (५)
योद्धा इंद्र अपने भक्तों के कल्याण के लिए सबको शुद्ध करने वाले स्वकीय बल से महान् युद्ध करते हैं. इंद्र जिस समय हनन का साधन वज्ज मेघों पर फेंकते हैं. उस समय सब लोग बलशाली कहकर तेजस्वी इंद्र के प्रति श्रद्धा प्रकट करते हैं. (५)
Warrior Indra makes great war with the self-help force that purifies everyone for the welfare of his devotees. At the time when Indra throws the means of violation on the thunderous clouds. At that time, everyone reveres the bright Indra by saying powerful. (5)

स हि श्र॑व॒स्युः सद॑नानि कृ॒त्रिमा॑ क्ष्म॒या वृ॑धा॒न ओज॑सा विना॒शय॑न् । ज्योतीं॑षि कृ॒ण्वन्न॑वृ॒काणि॒ यज्य॒वेऽव॑ सु॒क्रतुः॒ सर्त॒वा अ॒पः सृ॑जत् ॥ (६)
शोभन कर्मो वाले इंद्र यश की कामना करते हुए असुरों के सुंदर बने हुए घरों को अपनी शक्ति से नष्ट कर देते हैं. वे धरती के समान विस्तृत हो जाते हैं एवं सूर्य आदि ज्योतिपिंडों को आवरणरहित करके यजमान के निमित्त बहने वाला जल बरसाते हैं. (६)
The adorned karma-wala Indra, wishing yash, destroys the beautiful houses of the asuras with his power. They become as wide as the earth and the sun etc. cover the flames and rain the flowing water for the host. (6)

दा॒नाय॒ मनः॑ सोमपावन्नस्तु ते॒ऽर्वाञ्चा॒ हरी॑ वन्दनश्रु॒दा कृ॑धि । यमि॑ष्ठासः॒ सार॑थयो॒ य इ॑न्द्र ते॒ न त्वा॒ केता॒ आ द॑भ्नुवन्ति॒ भूर्ण॑यः ॥ (७)
हे सोमपायी इंद्र! तुम्हारा मन दान में लगा रहे. हे स्तुतिप्रिय इंद्र! तुम अपने हरि नामक घोड़ों को हमारे यज्ञ की ओर अभिमुख करो. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे सारथि घोड़ों को वश में करने में अत्यंत कुशल हैं. इस कारण आयुध धारण करने वाले तुम्हारे शत्रु तुम्हें नहीं हरा सकते. (७)
O Sompayi Indra! Keep your mind in charity. O you who are praiseworthy Indra! You should turn your horses named Hari towards our yajna. O Indra! Your charioteer is extremely skilled at subduing horses. Because of this, your enemies who wear arms cannot defeat you. (7)

अप्र॑क्षितं॒ वसु॑ बिभर्षि॒ हस्त॑यो॒रषा॑ळ्हं॒ सह॑स्त॒न्वि॑ श्रु॒तो द॑धे । आवृ॑तासोऽव॒तासो॒ न क॒र्तृभि॑स्त॒नूषु॑ ते॒ क्रत॑व इन्द्र॒ भूर॑यः ॥ (८)
हे प्रसिद्ध इंद्र! तुम अपने हाथों में क्षयरहित धन एवं शरीर में अपराजेय बल धारण करते हो. जिस प्रकार पानी भरने वाले लोग कुएं को घेरे रहते हैं, उसी प्रकार वृत्रवधादि वीरताएूर्ण कर्म तुम्हारे शरीर को घेरे हुए हैं. हे इंद्र! इसीलिए तुम्हारे शरीर में अनेक कर्म विद्यमान हैं. (८)
O famous Indra! You hold money without decay in your hands and unbeatable force in your body. Just as the people who fill the water surround the well, so the deeds of bravery and deeds of vritaravadhi are surrounding your body. O Indra! That is why there are many karmas in your body. (8)
