वह्निं॑ य॒शसं॑ वि॒दथ॑स्य के॒तुं सु॑प्रा॒व्यं॑ दू॒तं स॒द्योअ॑र्थम् । द्वि॒जन्मा॑नं र॒यिमि॑व प्रश॒स्तं रा॒तिं भ॑र॒द्भृग॑वे मात॒रिश्वा॑ ॥ (१)
मातरिश्वा हव्यवाहक, यशस्वी, यज्ञप्रकाशक, उत्तम रक्षक, देवों के दूत, हवि लेकर देवों के समीप जाने वाले, अरणिरूपी दो काष्ठों से उत्पन्न एवं धन के समान प्रशंसित अग्नि को भृगुवंशियों के मित्र के रूप में समीप लावें. (१)
May the matrishva havyavarak, the successful, the yajnaprakashak, the best protector, the messenger of the gods, the one who approaches the devas with the havi, the one born of two arnarupi woods and admired as wealth, bring the agni as a friend of the Bhriguvanshis. (1)

अ॒स्य शासु॑रु॒भया॑सः सचन्ते ह॒विष्म॑न्त उ॒शिजो॒ ये च॒ मर्ताः॑ । दि॒वश्चि॒त्पूर्वो॒ न्य॑सादि॒ होता॒पृच्छ्यो॑ वि॒श्पति॑र्वि॒क्षु वे॒धाः ॥ (२)
हव्य के इच्छुक देव और हव्य धारण करने वाले यजमान दोनों ही शासक अग्नि की सेवा करते हैं, वयोंकि पूज्य, वांछितफलदाता एवं प्रजापति अग्नि सूर्योदय से भी पहले यजमानों के बीच स्थापित हुए हैं. (२)
Both the gods who desire to have a havya and the hosts who wear the havan serve the ruling agni, because the venerated, the desired fruit giver and the prajapati agni are established among the hosts even before sunrise. (2)

तं नव्य॑सी हृ॒द आ जाय॑मानम॒स्मत्सु॑की॒र्तिर्मधु॑जिह्वमश्याः । यमृ॒त्विजो॑ वृ॒जने॒ मानु॑षासः॒ प्रय॑स्वन्त आ॒यवो॒ जीज॑नन्त ॥ (३)
हृदय में स्थित प्राण से उत्पन्न एवं मादक ज्वालाओं वाले अग्नि को हमारी नई स्तुतियां सामने से घेर लें. उचित समय पर यज्ञ करने वाले मनुष्यों ने संग्राम के समय अग्नि को उत्पन्न किया. (३)
Surround the agni that is produced by the soul in the heart and with intoxicating flames from the front of our new praises. The men who performed yajna at the appropriate time created the agni at the time of the war. (3)

उ॒शिक्पा॑व॒को वसु॒र्मानु॑षेषु॒ वरे॑ण्यो॒ होता॑धायि वि॒क्षु । दमू॑ना गृ॒हप॑ति॒र्दम॒ आँ अ॒ग्निर्भु॑वद्रयि॒पती॑ रयी॒णाम् ॥ (४)
यज्ञस्थल में प्रविष्ट यजमानों के बीच सबके प्रिय, शुद्धिकर्ता, निवास देने वाले, वरण करने योग्य अग्नि को स्थापित किया गया है. वे शत्रुदमन के लिए दृढ़निश्चयी, हमारे घरों के पालनकर्ता एवं यज्ञभवन में धन के अधिपति हों. (४)
Among the hosts who enter the place of yajna, the beloved, purifying, dwelling, selectable agni has been installed. They are determined to be the enemies, the nurturers of our homes and the lords of wealth in the yagna bhavan. (4)

तं त्वा॑ व॒यं पति॑मग्ने रयी॒णां प्र शं॑सामो म॒तिभि॒र्गोत॑मासः । आ॒शुं न वा॑जम्भ॒रं म॒र्जय॑न्तः प्रा॒तर्म॒क्षू धि॒याव॑सुर्जगम्यात् ॥ (५)
हे अग्नि! जिस प्रकार घोड़े पर चढ़ने का इच्छुक सवार घोड़े की पीठ साफ करता है, उसी प्रकार गौतम गोत्रोत्पन्न हम धन के स्वामी, सबके रक्षक, यज्ञ संबंधी अन्न के भर्ता तुझ अग्नि का मार्जन करते हुए सुंदर स्तोत्रं द्वारा तुम्हारी सहायता करते हैं. हे बुद्धि द्वारा धन प्राप्त करने वाले अग्नि! कल प्रातःकाल शीघ्र आना. (५)
