प॒शून्न चि॒त्रा सु॒भगा॑ प्रथा॒ना सिन्धु॒र्न क्षोद॑ उर्वि॒या व्य॑श्वैत् । अमि॑नती॒ दैव्या॑नि व्र॒तानि॒ सूर्य॑स्य चेति र॒श्मिभि॑र्दृशा॒ना ॥ (१२)
जैसे ग्वाला वन में पशुओं को चरने के लिए फैला देता है, उसी प्रकार सुभगा एवं पूजनीया उषाएं तेज का विस्तार करती हैं. जैसे बहता हुआ पानी नीची जगह पर शीघ्र फैल जाता है, वैसे ही महती उषाएं सारे विश्व को घेर लेती हैं एवं देवयज्ञों में विघ्न न डालती हुईं सूर्य की किरणों के साथ दिखाई देती हैं. (१२)
Just as gwala spreads animals for grazing in the forest, so do felicious and revered usha(dawn) expands fast. Just as the flowing water quickly spreads to the low-lying place, the great ushas surround the whole world and are seen with the rays of the sun, without disturbing the devyagyas. (12)
