भ॒द्रं नो॒ अपि॑ वातय॒ मनः॑ ॥ (१)
हे अग्नि! तुम मेरे मन को कल्याण के योग्य बनाओ. (१)
O agni! You make my mind worthy of well-being. (1)

अ॒ग्निमी॑ळे भु॒जां यवि॑ष्ठं शा॒सा मि॒त्रं दु॒र्धरी॑तुम् । यस्य॒ धर्म॒न्स्व१॒॑रेनीः॑ सप॒र्यन्ति॑ मा॒तुरूधः॑ ॥ (२)
मैं हवि का भोग करने वाले देवों के मध्य सबसे छोटे, अनुशासन के द्वारा मित्र एवं अपराजेय अग्नि की स्तुति करता हूं. बछड़े जिस प्रकार गाय का थन पीकर जीते हैं, उसी प्रकार अग्नि के यज्ञकर्म में समस्त देव, आहुतियां और स्तुतियां सेवा करती हैं. (२)
I praise the littlest of the gods who enjoy havi, the friend and unbeatable agni by discipline. Just as the calves live by drinking the cow's trunk, so all the gods, offerings and praises serve in the yagnakarma of agni. (2)

यमा॒सा कृ॒पनी॑ळं भा॒साके॑तुं व॒र्धय॑न्ति । भ्राज॑ते॒ श्रेणि॑दन् ॥ (३)
स्तोता यज्ञकर्म के आधार पर ज्वाला से पहचाने जाने वाले अग्नि को बढ़ाते हैं. स्तोताओं को मनचाहा फल देने वाले अग्नि प्रकाशित होते हैं. (३)
Stotas increase the agni identified by the flame on the basis of yajnakarma. The agnis that give the desired fruits to the hymns are illuminated. (3)

अ॒र्यो वि॒शां गा॒तुरे॑ति॒ प्र यदान॑ड्दि॒वो अन्ता॑न् । क॒विर॒भ्रं दीद्या॑नः ॥ (४)
यजमानों के आश्रययोग्य अग्नि दीप्त होकर जब ऊपर उठते हैं, उस समय मेधावी अन्ने द्युलोक के अंतिम भाग एवं मेघ को व्याप्त करते हैं. (४)
When the host's shelterable agnis are lit and rise up, the bright annes permeate the last part and cloud of the world. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
जु॒षद्ध॒व्या मानु॑षस्यो॒र्ध्वस्त॑स्था॒वृभ्वा॑ य॒ज्ञे । मि॒न्वन्सद्म॑ पु॒र ए॑ति ॥ (५)
यजमान के यज्ञ में हवि का उपभोग करने वाले अग्नि अनेक ज्वालाओं वाले बनकर ऊपर उठते हैं एवं यज्ञ की उत्तर वेदी को नापते हुए सबके सामने आते हैं. (५)
In the yajna of the host, the agnis consuming the havi rise up as many flames and come in front of everyone, measuring the north altar of the yajna. (5)

स हि क्षेमो॑ ह॒विर्य॒ज्ञः श्रु॒ष्टीद॑स्य गा॒तुरे॑ति । अ॒ग्निं दे॒वा वाशी॑मन्तम् ॥ (६)
वे ही अग्नि सबके पालन के कारण हैं, वे ही हव्य एवं यज्ञ हैं. अग्नि देवों को बुलाने के लिए शीघ्र जाते हैं. देवगण स्तुतिवचन से युक्त अग्नि के पास आते हैं. (६)
They are the reason for the observance of agni, they are the havya and yajna. They go quickly to call the agni gods. Devas come to the agni with praise. (6)

य॒ज्ञा॒साहं॒ दुव॑ इषे॒ऽग्निं पूर्व॑स्य॒ शेव॑स्य । अद्रेः॑ सू॒नुमा॒युमा॑हुः ॥ (७)
मैं उत्कृष्ट सुख की प्राप्ति के लिए अग्नि की सेवा करना चाहता हूं. अग्नि देवों को बुलाने हेतु जाने वाले, पत्थरों के पुत्र व यज्ञ वहन करने वाले हैं. (७)
I want to serve the agni for the attainment of excellent happiness. Those who go to call the agni gods, the sons of stones and those who bear the yagna. (7)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
नरो॒ ये के चा॒स्मदा विश्वेत्ते वा॒म आ स्युः॑ । अ॒ग्निं ह॒विषा॒ वर्ध॑न्तः ॥ (८)
हवि के द्वारा अग्नि को बढ़ाते हुए हमारे जो भी पुत्र-पौत्र हैं, वे सभी पशु आदि धन के पास बैठें. (८)
All our sons and grandsons who are increasing the agni through havi, all of them should sit near the wealth of animals, etc. (8)
