अ॒द्येदु॒ प्राणी॒दम॑मन्नि॒माहापी॑वृतो अधयन्मा॒तुरूधः॑ । एमे॑नमाप जरि॒मा युवा॑न॒महे॑ळ॒न्वसुः॑ सु॒मना॑ बभूव ॥ (८)
ये अग्नि आज ही अरणिमंथन से उत्पन्न हुए हैं. सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले इन्हें अन्यत्र ले जाना चाहते हैं. तेज से ढके हुए अग्नि, धरतीमाता के दूध के समान सोमरस पीते हैं. नित्य युवा अग्नि को हव्यों से मिली हुई स्तुति प्राप्त होती है. इस हेतु अग्नि क्रोधरहित, धन देने वाले एवं शोभन मनयुक्त हुए हैं. (८)
These agnis originated from Aranimanthan today itself. The somras squeezers want to take them elsewhere. The sharply covered agni drinks somras like the milk of the earth. The eternal young agni receives the praise from the havyas. For this, the agni has become angerless, money-giver and a heroic. (8)
