ऋग्वेद (मंडल 10)
अस्ते॑व॒ सु प्र॑त॒रं लाय॒मस्य॒न्भूष॑न्निव॒ प्र भ॑रा॒ स्तोम॑मस्मै । वा॒चा वि॑प्रास्तरत॒ वाच॑म॒र्यो नि रा॑मय जरितः॒ सोम॒ इन्द्र॑म् ॥ (१)
हे अंतरात्मा! धनुर्धारी जिस प्रकार सीने में घुसने वाला बाण छोड़ता है, उसी प्रकार तुम इंद्र को सुशोभित करते हुए उसकी स्तुति करो. हे मेधावी स्तोताओ! तुम अपने स्तुतिवचन से शत्रु की स्तुतियों को पराजित करो एवं सोमयज्ञ में इंद्र को आकर्षित करो. (१)
O conscience! Just as the archer leaves an arrow that enters the chest, so you praise Indra by adorning him. This brilliant stotao! You defeat the praises of the enemy with your praises and attract Indra to the somayagna. (1)

दोहे॑न॒ गामुप॑ शिक्षा॒ सखा॑यं॒ प्र बो॑धय जरितर्जा॒रमिन्द्र॑म् । कोशं॒ न पू॒र्णं वसु॑ना॒ न्यृ॑ष्ट॒मा च्या॑वय मघ॒देया॑य॒ शूर॑म् ॥ (२)
हे स्तोता! गाय जिस प्रकार दूध देती है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र अभिलाषा पूर्ण करते हैं. तुम मित्र इंद्र को वश में करो एवं जारतुल्य इंद्र को जगाओ. लोग जिस प्रकार धन से भरे हुए पात्र को उलटा करके उस में से भरा धन निकालते हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम धन देने के लिए शूर इंद्र को अभिमुख करो. (२)
This is the hymn! Just as the cow gives milk, indra fulfills the desire. You subdue the friend Indra and wake up the jaratlya Indra. Just as people turn the container full of money and remove the money from it, so you should turn to The Brave Indra to give money. (2)

किम॒ङ्ग त्वा॑ मघवन्भो॒जमा॑हुः शिशी॒हि मा॑ शिश॒यं त्वा॑ शृणोमि । अप्न॑स्वती॒ मम॒ धीर॑स्तु शक्र वसु॒विदं॒ भग॑मि॒न्द्रा भ॑रा नः ॥ (३)
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! लोग तुम्हें स्तोताओं का इष्ट क्यों कहते हैं? मैंने तुम्हें दाता सुना है, इसलिए तुम धन देकर स्तोता को संपन्न करो. हे शक्र! मेरी बुद्धि यज्ञकर्म में निपुण हो एवं मेरा भाग्य धन प्राप्त कराने वाला बनाओ. (३)
O Dhanaswami Indra! Why do people call you the favor of the Psalms? I have heard you giver, so you give money and endow the hymn. Oh, Shakr! Let my intellect be proficient in yajnakarma and make my destiny a recipient of wealth. (3)

त्वां जना॑ ममस॒त्येष्वि॑न्द्र संतस्था॒ना वि ह्व॑यन्ते समी॒के । अत्रा॒ युजं॑ कृणुते॒ यो ह॒विष्मा॒न्नासु॑न्वता स॒ख्यं व॑ष्टि॒ शूरः॑ ॥ (४)
हे इंद्र! लोग युद्धों में तुम्हें सहायता के लिए पुकारते हैं. युद्ध में शत्रुओं के साथ स्थित लोग तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. इंद्र हव्य वाले आह्वाता को अपना मित्र बनाते हैं एवं सोमरस न निचोड़ने वाले पुरुष के साथ मित्रता नहीं चाहते हैं. (४)
O Indra! People call upon you for help in wars. People with enemies in battle call you. Indra makes the call of Havya his friend and does not want friendship with the man who does not squeeze the Somras. (4)

धनं॒ न स्य॒न्द्रं ब॑हु॒लं यो अ॑स्मै ती॒व्रान्सोमा॑ँ आसु॒नोति॒ प्रय॑स्वान् । तस्मै॒ शत्रू॑न्सु॒तुका॑न्प्रा॒तरह्नो॒ नि स्वष्ट्रा॑न्यु॒वति॒ हन्ति॑ वृ॒त्रम् ॥ (५)
जो हव्य वाला यजमान इंद्र के लिए इस प्रकार नशीला सोमरस निचोड़ता है, जिस प्रकार कोई व्यक्ति दरिद्र को देने के लिए गाय या अश्व आदि धन का संस्कार करता है, इंद्र उसके शक्तिशाली, संतानसहित एवं शोभन आयुधों वाले शत्रुओं को उससे अलग हटाते हैं एवं उसका उपद्रव शांत करते हैं. (५)
The havya host squeezes the intoxicating somras for Indra in this way, just as a person performs the rites of wealth like a cow or an horse, etc., to give to the poor, Indra separates his powerful, children and brave armaments enemies from him and calms his nuisance. (5)

यस्मि॑न्व॒यं द॑धि॒मा शंस॒मिन्द्रे॒ यः शि॒श्राय॑ म॒घवा॒ काम॑म॒स्मे । आ॒राच्चि॒त्सन्भ॑यतामस्य॒ शत्रु॒र्न्य॑स्मै द्यु॒म्ना जन्या॑ नमन्ताम् ॥ (६)
हमने जिन इंद्र की स्तुति की है, वे धनवान् इंद्र हमारी इच्छा पूरी करते हैं. इंद्र के शत्रु दूर होते हुए भी डरते हैं एवं शत्रुओं के जनपद की संपत्ति इंद्र के अधिकार में आ जाती है. (६)
The Indras whom we have praised, the dhanvan indras fulfill our wish. Indra's enemies are afraid even when they are far away and the property of the enemy's district comes under indra's possession. (6)

आ॒राच्छत्रु॒मप॑ बाधस्व दू॒रमु॒ग्रो यः शम्बः॑ पुरुहूत॒ तेन॑ । अ॒स्मे धे॑हि॒ यव॑म॒द्गोम॑दिन्द्र कृ॒धी धियं॑ जरि॒त्रे वाज॑रत्नाम् ॥ (७)
हे बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! तुम्हारा जो उग्र वज्र है, उससे शत्रु को हमारे पास से भगाओ. हे इंद्र! हमें जौ और गायों वाला धन दो. तुम अपने स्तोता की स्तुति अन्न एवं रत्न उत्पन्न करने वाली बनाओ. (७)
O Indra called by many! Drive out the enemy from us with the furious thunderbolt that you have. O Indra! Give us money with barley and cows. You make the praise of your hymns a producer of food and gems. (7)

प्र यम॒न्तर्वृ॑षस॒वासो॒ अग्म॑न्ती॒व्राः सोमा॑ बहु॒लान्ता॑स॒ इन्द्र॑म् । नाह॑ दा॒मानं॑ म॒घवा॒ नि यं॑स॒न्नि सु॑न्व॒ते व॑हति॒ भूरि॑ वा॒मम् ॥ (८)
अनेक धाराओं में माधुर्य बरसाता हुआ एवं तेज नशे वाला सोमरस विविध अन्नों से मिलकर जिस समय इंद्र के शरीर में प्रवेश करता है, उस समय इंद्र सोमरसदाता यजमान को कभी नहीं रोकते. इसके अतिरिक्त वे सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले यजमान को अधिक मात्रा में शोभन धन देते हैं. (८)
In many streams, the melody is showered and the heavily drunk somersa, consisting of various grains, at the time when indra enters the body of indra, indra never stops the somrasdata host. In addition, they give a large amount of sobhan money to the host who squeezes the somras. (8)
