ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 69
शश्व॑द॒ग्निर्व॑ध्र्य॒श्वस्य॒ शत्रू॒न्नृभि॑र्जिगाय सु॒तसो॑मवद्भिः । सम॑नं चिददहश्चित्रभा॒नोऽव॒ व्राध॑न्तमभिनद्वृ॒धश्चि॑त् ॥ (११)
उस अन्ने ने वध्यश्च के सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले एवं यज्ञनेता ऋत्विजों की सहायता से सदा शत्रुओं को जीता. हे नाना तेजों वाले अग्नि! तुमने संग्राम में उन्हें जलाया. अग्नि ने बढ़े हुए हिंसकों को नष्ट किया. (११)
That one always conquered the enemies with the help of the sages, the somras squeezers of the vedas and the yajna-netta ritvijs. O agni with great lights! You lit them in the struggle. The agni destroyed the increased violent. (11)
