ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 77
ते हि य॒ज्ञेषु॑ य॒ज्ञिया॑स॒ ऊमा॑ आदि॒त्येन॒ नाम्ना॒ शम्भ॑विष्ठाः । ते नो॑ऽवन्तु रथ॒तूर्म॑नी॒षां म॒हश्च॒ याम॑न्नध्व॒रे च॑का॒नाः ॥ (८)
यज्ञ के अधिकारी एवं रक्षक मरुत्‌, आकाश के जल द्वारा सुख देते हैं, तेज चलने वाले रथ से आकर हमारी बुद्धि की रक्षा करते हैं एवं महान्‌ हवि की अभिलाषा करते हुए यज्ञ में आते हैं. (८)
The officers and protectors of the yajna give happiness by the water of the desert, by the water of the sky, come from a fast-moving chariot and protect our intellect and come to the yajna, wishing for the great one. (8)
