म॒हाँ ऋषि॑र्देव॒जा दे॒वजू॒तोऽस्त॑भ्ना॒त्सिन्धु॑मर्ण॒वं नृ॒चक्षाः॑ । वि॒श्वामि॑त्रो॒ यदव॑हत्सु॒दास॒मप्रि॑यायत कुशि॒केभि॒रिन्द्रः॑ ॥ (९)
महान्‌, इंद्रियों से परवर्ती अर्थ देखने वाले, उज्ज्वल तेज उत्पन्न करने वाले, तेजों द्वारा आकृष्ट व मनुष्यों के उपदेशक विश्वामित्र ने जलपूर्ण सरिता को रोक दिया था. जब विश्वामित्र ने सुदास का यज्ञ कराया, तब इंद्र ने कुशिकगोत्रीय ऋषियों के साथ प्रेम का आचरण किया. (९)
