ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
प्र का॑रवो मन॒ना व॒च्यमा॑ना देव॒द्रीचीं॑ नयत देव॒यन्तः॑ । द॒क्षि॒णा॒वाड्वा॒जिनी॒ प्राच्ये॑ति ह॒विर्भर॑न्त्य॒ग्नये॑ घृ॒ताची॑ ॥ (१)
हे यज्ञकर्तताओ! तुम देवों की कामना करते हुए मंत्रों से प्रेरित होकर देवों की अर्चना करने वाला खुच भली प्रकार लाओ. वह आहवनीय यज्ञ की दक्षिण दिशा में ले जाया जाता है, अन्न युक्त है, उसका आगे वाला हिस्सा पूर्व दिशा में रहता है एवं वह अग्नि के लिए हवि धारण करता है, वही स्रुच जाता है. (१)
O yajnakarta! You are inspired by the mantras while wishing for the gods and bring a well-to-do good thing to worship the gods. He is taken to the south side of the aavnable yajna, is rich in food, the front part of it remains in the east direction and he wears a havan for the agni, the same goes away. (1)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
आ रोद॑सी अपृणा॒ जाय॑मान उ॒त प्र रि॑क्था॒ अध॒ नु प्र॑यज्यो । दि॒वश्चि॑दग्ने महि॒ना पृ॑थि॒व्या व॒च्यन्तां॑ ते॒ वह्न॑यः स॒प्तजि॑ह्वाः ॥ (२)
हे अग्नि! तुम उत्पन्न होते ही धरती एवं आकाश को पूर्ण करो. हे यज्ञ के योग्य अग्नि! तुम अपने महत्त्व से धरती एवं आकाश से उत्तम हो. तुम्हारी अंशरूपी सात ज्वालाएं पूजित हों, (२)
O agni! When you are born, complete the earth and the sky. O agni worthy of yajna! You are superior to the earth and the sky by your importance. Let the seven flames of your part be worshipped, (2)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
द्यौश्च॑ त्वा पृथि॒वी य॒ज्ञिया॑सो॒ नि होता॑रं सादयन्ते॒ दमा॑य । यदी॒ विशो॒ मानु॑षीर्देव॒यन्तीः॒ प्रय॑स्वती॒रीळ॑ते शु॒क्रम॒र्चिः ॥ (३)
हे धरती, आकाश एवं यज्ञ के योग्य देव! जिस समय यज्ञ के पात्र देव एवं स्तोता हव्य लेकर तुम्हारी उज्ज्वल दीप्तियों का वर्णन करते हैं, उस समय तुम होता यज्ञ पूरा करने के लिए तुझ अग्नि की स्तुति करते हैं. (३)
O god of the earth, the sky and the worthy of sacrifice! At the time when the characters of the yajna, the gods and the hymns, take the vow and describe your bright lamps, at that time you praise your agni for completing the yajna. (3)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
म॒हान्स॒धस्थे॑ ध्रु॒व आ निष॑त्तो॒ऽन्तर्द्यावा॒ माहि॑ने॒ हर्य॑माणः । आस्क्रे॑ स॒पत्नी॑ अ॒जरे॒ अमृ॑क्ते सब॒र्दुघे॑ उरुगा॒यस्य॑ धे॒नू ॥ (४)
महान् एवं यजमानों द्वारा चाहे गए अग्नि धरती और आकाश के बीच अपने उत्तम स्थान पर स्थित होते हैं. चलने वाली, सूर्यरूपी एक ही पति की पत्नियां, जरारहित, दूसरों द्वारा अहिंसित एवं जलरूपी दूध लेने वाले धरती व आकाश उस शीघ्रगामी अग्नि की गाएं हैं. (४)
The agnis desired by the greats and hosts are located in their best place between the earth and the sky. The wives of the same husband, the sun-like, the unselected, the earth and the sky, which are unviolable by others and who take watery milk, are the songs of that fast-moving agni. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
व्र॒ता ते॑ अग्ने मह॒तो म॒हानि॒ तव॒ क्रत्वा॒ रोद॑सी॒ आ त॑तन्थ । त्वं दू॒तो अ॑भवो॒ जाय॑मान॒स्त्वं ने॒ता वृ॑षभ चर्षणी॒नाम् ॥ (५)
हे सर्वोत्कृष्ट अग्नि! तुमसे संबंधित कर्म महान् है. तुमने धरती और आकाश को विस्तार दिया है एवं तुम दूत बने हो. हे कामवर्षक अग्नि! तुम उत्पन्न होते ही यजमानों के फलदाता होते हो. (५)
This is the best agni! The work related to you is great. You have expanded the earth and the sky, and you have become messengers. O working agni! You are the fruit giver of the hosts as soon as you are born. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
ऋ॒तस्य॑ वा के॒शिना॑ यो॒ग्याभि॑र्घृत॒स्नुवा॒ रोहि॑ता धु॒रि धि॑ष्व । अथा व॑ह दे॒वान्दे॑व॒ विश्वा॑न्स्वध्व॒रा कृ॑णुहि जातवेदः ॥ (६)
हे अग्नि देव! उत्तम केशों वाले, रस्सियों से युक्त एवं घी टपकाने वाले दोनों रोहित नामक घोड़ों को यज्ञ के अग्रभाग में लाओ तथा सभी देवों का आह्वान करो. हे जातवेद अग्नि! तुम देवों को शोभन यज्ञ वाला बनाओ. (६)
O God of agni! Bring the horses named Rohith, both with good hair, with ropes and dripping ghee, into the front of the yagna and invoke all the gods. O Jativeda Agni! You make the gods to be adorned with yajna. (6)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
दि॒वश्चि॒दा ते॑ रुचयन्त रो॒का उ॒षो वि॑भा॒तीरनु॑ भासि पू॒र्वीः । अ॒पो यद॑ग्न उ॒शध॒ग्वने॑षु॒ होतु॑र्म॒न्द्रस्य॑ प॒नय॑न्त दे॒वाः ॥ (७)
हे अग्नि! जिस समय तुम वनवृक्षों का जलभाग जलाते हो, उस समय तुम्हारी चमक सूर्य से भी बढ़ जाती है. तुम विशेष प्रभा वाली उषा के पीछे प्रकाशित होते हो. स्तोता तुझ स्तुतियोग्य होता की स्तुति करते हैं. (७)
O agni! At the time you burn the waterpart of the forest trees, your brightness is increased by the sun. You are illuminated behind usha with a special prabha. The psalms praise you for being praiseworthy. (7)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 3)
उ॒रौ वा॒ ये अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे॒ मद॑न्ति दि॒वो वा॒ ये रो॑च॒ने सन्ति॑ दे॒वाः । ऊमा॑ वा॒ ये सु॒हवा॑सो॒ यज॑त्रा आयेमि॒रे र॒थ्यो॑ अग्ने॒ अश्वाः॑ ॥ (८)
विस्तृत आकाश में जो देव प्रसन्न होते हैं, सब देव जो सूर्य के समान प्रकाश वाले हैं, उस नाम के पितर एवं यज्ञ के योग्य देव जो बुलाने पर आते हैं, हे रथवान् अग्नि! तुम्हारे जो अश्च हैं. (८)
All the gods who rejoice in the vast sky, all the gods who are as light as the sun, the father of that name and the deities worthy of the yagna who come when called, O chariotavan agni! Which are yours who are ass. (8)
