ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
मध्ये॒ होता॑ दुरो॒णे ब॒र्हिषो॒ राळ॒ग्निस्तो॒दस्य॒ रोद॑सी॒ यज॑ध्यै । अ॒यं स सू॒नुः सह॑स ऋ॒तावा॑ दू॒रात्सूर्यो॒ न शो॒चिषा॑ ततान ॥ (१)
देवों को बुलाने वाले तथा यज्ञ के स्वामी अग्नि धरती-आकाश के निमित्त यज्ञ करने के लिए यजमान के घर में स्थित होते हैं. बल के पुत्र एवं यज्ञसहित अग्नि दूर रहकर भी सूर्य के समान अपनी किरणों का विस्तार करते हैं. (१)
Those who call the gods and the masters of the yajna are located in the house of the host to perform the yajna for the sake of the agni earth and sky. The son of force and the agni, including the yajna, extend their rays like the sun even when they are far away. (1)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
आ यस्मि॒न्त्वे स्वपा॑के यजत्र॒ यक्ष॑द्राजन्स॒र्वता॑तेव॒ नु द्यौः । त्रि॒ष॒धस्थ॑स्तत॒रुषो॒ न जंहो॑ ह॒व्या म॒घानि॒ मानु॑षा॒ यज॑ध्यै ॥ (२)
हे यज्ञ के योग्य एवं राजमान अग्नि! सभी स्तोता तुझ बुद्धिमान् अग्नि में शीघ्र यज्ञ करते हैं. तुम तीनों लोकों में स्थित होने के कारण मनुष्यों के श्रेष्ठ हव्य को देवों के पास सूर्य की तीव्र गति से ले जाओ. (२)
O worthy of yajna and a royal agni! All the hymns perform a quick yagna in your wise agni. Being located in all the three realms of you, take the best human being of human beings to the gods at the high speed of the sun. (2)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
तेजि॑ष्ठा॒ यस्या॑र॒तिर्व॑ने॒राट् तो॒दो अध्व॒न्न वृ॑धसा॒नो अ॑द्यौत् । अ॒द्रो॒घो न द्र॑वि॒ता चे॑तति॒ त्मन्नम॑र्त्योऽव॒र्त्र ओष॑धीषु ॥ (३)
जिन अग्नि की ज्वाला परम तेजस्विनी होकर वन में प्रकाशित होती है, वे बढ़कर अपने मार्ग में सूर्य के समान प्रकाशित होते हैं एवं वायु के समान सबसे द्रोहरहित एवं अमर बनकर ओषधियों के प्रति द्रवित होते हुए सारे संसार का ज्ञान कराते हैं. (३)
The flames of the agni, which are illuminated in the forest by being the most glorious, grow and shine like the sun in their path and become the most hostile and immortal like the wind and become the most hostile and immortal, making them aware of the whole world, moving towards the drugs. (3)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
सास्माके॑भिरे॒तरी॒ न शू॒षैर॒ग्निः ष्ट॑वे॒ दम॒ आ जा॒तवे॑दाः । द्र्व॑न्नो व॒न्वन्क्रत्वा॒ नार्वो॒स्रः पि॒तेव॑ जार॒यायि॑ य॒ज्ञैः ॥ (४)
हमारे यज्ञगृह में जातवेद अग्नि की स्तुति उसी प्रकार की जाती है, जिस प्रकार यज्ञकर्ता उन्हें सुख देने वाली स्तुतियां बोलते हैं. यजमान अग्नि की सेवा करते हैं. अनि वृक्षों को खाने वाले, वन का सहारा लेने वाले तथा बैल के समान शीघ्र आने वाले हैं. (४)
In our yajnagriha, the Jataveda agni is praised in the same way as the yajnakars speak the praises that give them happiness. Hosts serve agni. Those who eat trees, resort to forests and come soon like bulls. (4)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
अध॑ स्मास्य पनयन्ति॒ भासो॒ वृथा॒ यत्तक्ष॑दनु॒याति॑ पृ॒थ्वीम् । स॒द्यो यः स्य॒न्द्रो विषि॑तो॒ धवी॑यानृ॒णो न ता॒युरति॒ धन्वा॑ राट् ॥ (५)
अग्नि जब बिना प्रयत्न के ही वनों को जलाते हुए वहां की धरती पर चलते हैं तो स्तोता मर्त्यलोक में अग्नि की ज्वालाओं की स्तुति करते हैं. चोर के समान तेज और निर्बाधरूप में चलने वाले अग्नि मरुभूमि में सुशोभित होते हैं. (५)
When the agni moves on the earth without any effort, burning the forests, the stotas praise the flames of the agni in the martyloka. Fires that run as fast and uninterrupted as thieves are adorned in the desert. (5)
ऋग्वेद (मंडल 6)
स त्वं नो॑ अर्व॒न्निदा॑या॒ विश्वे॑भिरग्ने अ॒ग्निभि॑रिधा॒नः । वेषि॑ रा॒यो वि या॑सि दु॒च्छुना॒ मदे॑म श॒तहि॑माः सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (६)
हे गमनशील अग्नि! तुम सभी प्रकार की अग्नियों के साथ प्रज्वलित होकर निंदा से हमारी रक्षा करो व हमें धन देकर शत्रुओं का नाश करो. हम शोभन संतान को पाकर सौ वर्ष तक प्रसन्न रहें. (६)
Oh, the moving agni! You, ignited with all kinds of agnis, protect us from condemnation and destroy our enemies by giving us money. May we be happy to have a beautiful child for a hundred years. (6)
