ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 28
न ता न॑शन्ति॒ न द॑भाति॒ तस्क॑रो॒ नासा॑मामि॒त्रो व्यथि॒रा द॑धर्षति । दे॒वाँश्च॒ याभि॒र्यज॑ते॒ ददा॑ति च॒ ज्योगित्ताभिः॑ सचते॒ गोप॑तिः स॒ह ॥ (३)
वे गाएं नष्ट न हों. चोर उन्हें चुरावें नहीं. शत्रुओं का शस्त्र उन पर न गिरे. गायों का स्वामी जिन गायों द्वारा इंद्र के निमित्त यज्ञ करता है एवं जिन्हें इंद्र को दिया जाता है, उन गायों के साथ उनका स्वामी अधिक समय तक रहे. (३)
They sing don't be destroyed. Thieves don't steal them. Do not let the weapons of the enemies fall on them. The owner of the cows, the cows by which he performs yajna for Indra and which are given to Indra, stayed with them for a long time. (3)
