ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 110
त्वे सो॑म प्रथ॒मा वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषो म॒हे वाजा॑य॒ श्रव॑से॒ धियं॑ दधुः । स त्वं नो॑ वीर वी॒र्या॑य चोदय ॥ (७)
हे सोम! प्राचीन एवं यज्ञ के निमित्त कुश तोड़ने वाले यजमानों ने महान्‌ बल और अन्न पाने के लिए तुम में अपनी बुद्धि को धारण किया था. हे वीर सोम! तुम संग्राम में बल प्रदर्शन के लिए हमें भी भेजो. (७)
