ऋग्वेद: | सूक्त: 70
स भिक्ष॑माणो अ॒मृत॑स्य॒ चारु॑ण उ॒भे द्यावा॒ काव्ये॑ना॒ वि श॑श्रथे । तेजि॑ष्ठा अ॒पो मं॒हना॒ परि॑ व्यत॒ यदी॑ दे॒वस्य॒ श्रव॑सा॒ सदो॑ वि॒दुः ॥ (२)
जब यजमान यज्ञ करते हुए शोभन जल मांगते हैं, तब सोम धरती-आकाश को जलों से भर देते हैं. सोम अपनी महिमा द्वारा अतिशय तेजस्वी जलों को ढकते हैं. ऋत्विज्‌ हव्य धारण करके दीप्तिशाली सोम का स्थान जान गए. (२)
