सामवेद (अध्याय 11)
जनस्य गोपा अजनिष्ट जागृविरग्निः सुदक्षः सुविताय नव्यसे । घृतप्रतीको बृहता दिविस्पृषा द्युमद्वि भाति भरतेभ्यः शुचिः ॥ (१)
हे अग्नि! आप प्रजा के रक्षक, जाग्रत करने वाले व कुशलता प्रदान करने वाले हैं. आप यजमान को उन्नति के पथ पर अग्रसर करने के लिए प्रकट होते हैं. आप घी की आहुति से प्रज्वलित होते हैं. आप विराट् (असीम) आकाश तक अपनी पहुंच रखते हैं. आप पवित्र व क्षमतावान हैं. आप स्वर्गलोक को स्पर्श करते हैं तथा यजमानों के कल्याण के लिए प्रकाशित होते हैं. O agni! You are the protector, awakener and skill giver of the people. You appear to guide the host on the path of progress. You are ignited by the offering of ghee. You have access to the vast (limitless) sky. You are pure and capable. You touch heaven and are illuminated for the welfare of hosts. (1)
