सामवेद (अध्याय 18)
अपां नपातँ सुभगँ सुदीदितिमग्निमु श्रेष्ठशोचिषम् । स नो मित्रस्य वरुणस्य सो अपामा सुम्नं यक्षते दिवि ॥ (१०)
हे अग्नि! आप सुभग (श्रेष्ठ धन वाले), सुदीप्त (अच्छी तरह प्रकाशित), श्रेष्ठ ज्वालाओं वाले व आकाश के जल को धारते हैं. आप हमें मित्र और वरुण देवता से प्राप्त होने वाला सुख तथा दिव्यलोक का जल प्राप्त कराइए. (१०)
O agni! You have subhag (with the best wealth), sudipta (well illuminated), with the best flames and the water of the sky. You give us the happiness and the water of the divine land from the friend and Varuna devta. (10)
