सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
उच्चा ते जातमन्धसो दिवि सद्भूम्या ददे । उग्रँ शर्म महि श्रवः ॥ (१)
हे सोम! स्वर्गलोक में आप के पोषक रस॒ का जन्म हुआ है. उसी स्वर्गलोक से आप महत्त्वपूर्ण सुख और प्रचुर अन्न पृथ्वी पर पहुंचाते हैं. (१)
O Mon! Your nourishing juices have been born in heaven. From the same heaven, you deliver important happiness and abundant food to the earth. (1)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
स्वादिष्ठया मदिष्ठया पवस्व सोम धारया । इन्द्राय पातवे सुतः ॥ (२)
इंद्र के लिए सोमरस निचोड़ा गया है. हे सोम! आप रसीले हैं. आप प्रसन्नता देने वाले और स्वादिष्ट हैं. आप की धाराएं निरंतर झरें. (२)
Someras has been squeezed for Indra. O Mon! You're succulent. You are delightful and delicious. Your currents flow continuously. (2)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
वृषा पवस्व धारया मरुत्वते च मत्सरः । विश्वा दधान ओजसा ॥ (३)
हे सोम! आप गाढ़ीगाढ़ी धाराओं से यजमान के मटकों में पधारिए. आप उन इंद्र को प्रसन्न कीजिए, जिन की मरुद्गण भी सेवा करते हैं. आप इंद्र की सामर्थ्य और बढ़ाइए और यजमानों की मनोकामनाएं पूरी कीजिए. (३)
O Mon! You come from the thick streams to the host's matkas. Please the Indra, whom even the deserts serve. Increase the power of Indra and fulfill the wishes of the hosts. (3)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
यस्ते मदो वरेण्यस्तेना पवस्वान्धसा । देवावीरघशँसहा ॥ (४)
हे सोम! आप का रस देवताओं को बहुत प्रिय, राक्षसों का नाशक है. आप का रस बहुत प्रसन्नतादायी है. आप इस रस के साथ कलशों (मटकों) में पधारिए. (४)
O Mon! Your juice is very dear to the gods, the destroyer of demons. Your juice is very pleasing. You come to the urns (matkas) with this juice. (4)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
तिस्रो वाच उदीरते गावो मिमन्ति धेनवः । हरिरेति कनिक्रदत् ॥ (५)
यज्ञ के समय तीनों वेदों के मंत्र गाए जाते हैं. दुधारू गाएं अपने दोहन के लिए रंभाती हैं. हरा सोमरस आवाज करता हुआ मटकों में जाता है. (५)
At the time of yajna, mantras of the three Vedas are sung. Milch cows are eager for their exploitation. Green Someras goes into the matkas making a sound. (5)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
इन्द्रायेन्दो मरुत्वते पवस्व मधुमत्तमः । अर्कस्य योनिमासदम् ॥ (६)
हे सोम! आप बहुत मीठे हैं. आप यज्ञशाला में पधारिए. आप इंद्र के लिए कलश में पधारिए (जाइए). (६)
O Mon! You're so sweet. You come to the yagyashala. You come in the kalash for Indra (go). (6)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
असाव्यँशुर्मदायाप्सु दक्षो गिरिष्ठाः । श्येनो न योनिमासदत् ॥ (७)
हे सोम! आप पर्वत पर पैदा हुए हैं. आप को प्रसन्नता के लिए निचोड़ा जाता है. जल से आप की मात्रा बढ़ाई जाती है. जैसे श्येन (बाज) पक्षी अपने स्थान पर स्थित रहता है, वैसे ही आप यज्ञ में अपने निर्धारित स्थान पर विराजिए. (७)
O Mon! You were born on the mountain. You are squeezed to delight. Water increases the amount of you. Just as the shyen (hawk) bird is located in its place, so you sit at your designated place in the yajna. (7)
सामवेद (अध्याय 5)
पवस्व दक्षसाधनो देवेभ्यः पीतये हरे । मरुद्भ्यो वायवे मदः ॥ (८)
हे सोम! आप हरीहरी आभा वाले व शक्तिमान हैं. देवों और मरुदगणों के पीने के लिए कलश में पधारिए. (८)
O Mon! You are powerful and powerful. Come to the kalash for the gods and deserters to drink. (8)
