यजुर्वेद:
राज्ञ्य॑सि॒ प्राची॒ दिग्वि॒राड॑सि॒ दक्षि॑णा॒ दिक् स॒म्राड॑सि प्र॒तीची॒ दिक् स्व॒राड॒स्युदी॑ची॒ दिगधि॑पत्न्यसि बृह॒ती दिक् ॥ (१३)
हे इष्टका! आप रानी हैं. आप पूर्व दिशा में सुशोभित होती हैं. आप विराट्‌ हैं. आप दक्षिण दिशा स्वरूप हैं. आप सम्राट्‌ हैं. आप पश्चिम दिशा स्वरूप हैं. आप स्वयं प्रकाशित हैं. आप उत्तर दिशा स्वरूप हैं. आप सभी विशाल दिशाओं की अधिष्ठाता व पत्नी हैं. (१३)
O god! You are the queen. You are adorned in the east direction. You are Virat. You are the south direction format. You are the emperor. You are the west direction format. You are self-published. You are the north direction format. You are the presiding deity and wife of all the vast directions. (13)
