यजुर्वेद:
ये प॒थां प॑थि॒रक्ष॑यऽऐलबृ॒दाऽआ॑यु॒र्युधः॑। तेषा॑ सहस्रयोज॒नेऽव॒ धन्वा॑नि तन्मसि ॥ (६०)
हे रुद्र देव! आप कई राहों के राहगीरों के रक्षक हैं. अन्न से प्राणियों को पोषण देने वाले व आयुधधारी हैं. जो जीवन के युद्ध में जूझ रहे हैं, आप उन के धनुषों को हम से हजारों योजन दूर कीजिए. आप उन के धनुषों को प्रत्यंचा रहित बनाइए. (६०)
O Rudra Dev! You are the protector of passers-by on many paths. They are the ones who nourish the animals with food and are armed. Those who are struggling in the war of life, you remove their bows from us thousands of plans. You make their bows unfilled. (60)
