यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 23)
द्यौरा॑सीत् पू॒र्वचि॑त्ति॒रश्व॑ऽआसीद् बृ॒हद्वयः॑। अवि॑रासीत् पिलिप्पि॒ला रात्रि॑रासीत् पिशङ्गि॒ला ॥ (१२)
स्वर्गलोक के बारे में सब से पहले चिंतन करना चाहिए. अश्व सब से विशाल है. पृथ्वी सब से बड़ी रक्षिका है. पृथ्वी सब से ज्यादा शोभा धारने बाली है. रात्रि अपने अंधेरे में सब को छिपा कर रखने वाली है. (१२)
One should first think about heaven. The horse is the largest. The earth is the greatest protector. The earth is the most beautiful. The night is going to keep everyone hidden in its darkness. (12)
