यजुर्वेद (अध्याय 37)
देवी॑ द्यावापृथिवी म॒खस्य॑ वाम॒द्य शिरो॑ राध्यासं देव॒यज॑ने पृथिव्याः।म॒खाय॑ त्वा म॒खस्य॑ त्वा शी॒र्ष्णे ॥ (३)
हम स्वर्गलोक की दिव्य शक्तियों को यज्ञ में आमंत्रित कर के बेदी पर प्रतिष्ठित करते हैं. हम पृथ्वी की दिव्य शक्तियों को यज्ञ में आमंत्रित कर के वेदी पर प्रतिष्ठित करते हैं. हम स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक की दिव्य शक्तियों को पृथ्वी के इस देवयज्ञ में आराधनापूर्वक यज्ञवेदी पर स्थापित करते हैं. हम मिट्टी देवी को यज्ञ के शीर्षस्थ (उच्च) स्थान पर प्रतिष्ठित करते हैं. We invite the divine powers of heaven to the yajna and establish them on the bedi. We invite the divine powers of the earth to the yajna and establish them on the altar. We worship the divine powers of heaven and earthland in this divine sacrifice of the earth on the yajnavedi. We revere the clay goddess at the top (high) position of the yajna. (3)
