यजुर्वेद:
अग्ने॒ सह॑स्व॒ पृ॑तनाऽअ॒भिमा॑ती॒रपा॑स्य। दु॒ष्टर॒स्तर॒न्नरा॑ती॒र्वर्चो॑ धा य॒ज्ञवा॑हसि ॥ (३७)
हे अग्नि! आप शत्रुओं को हराइए. आप शत्रुओं का नाश कीजिए. हे अग्नि! आप को जीतना दुर्लभ है. हे अग्नि! आप मंत्रपूर्वक यज्ञ करने वाले यजमान को अन्न दीजिए, तेजस्वी बनाइए. (३७)
O agni! You defeat the enemies. Destroy your enemies. O agni! It's rare for you to win. O agni! You give food to the host who performs the yajna with mantra, make it bright. (37)
