इंद्रादि देवों में वरुण पापियों को दंड देने वाले हैं. इस प्रकार के यह वरुण सब से उत्कृष्ट हैं. सभी पदार्थ तेजस्वी वरुण देव के वश में हैं. इसलिए मैं वरुण की स्तुति संबंधी मंत्रों से शक्ति प्राप्त कर के वरुण देव के प्रचंड कोप के कारण उत्पन्न जलोदर रोग वाले इस पुरुष को रोगमुक्त करता हूं. (१)
Among the Indradi devas, Varuna is the one who punishes sinners. This type of Varun is the most outstanding. All substances are under the control of the stunning Varun Dev. Therefore, I get strength from the mantras related to varuna's praise and cure this man with ascites disease caused by the tremendous wrath of Varun Dev. (1)
हे तेजस्वी वरुण! तुम्हारे क्रोध के लिए नमस्कार है. तुम सभी प्राणियों द्वारा किए गए अपराधों को जानते हो. मैं हजारों अपराधी पुरुषों को तुम्हारी सेवा में भेज रहा हूं. ये मनुष्य आप के प्रति निष्ठा वाले बन कर सौ वर्ष तक जीवित रहें. (२)

हे जलोदर रोग से ग्रसित पुरुष! अपनी जिह्वा से तूने पाप का साधन असत्य भाषण अधिक किया है. मैं सत्य धर्म वाले एवं तेजस्वी वरुण के कोप से तेरी रक्षा करता हूं. (३)
O man suffering from ascites disease! From your tongue you have made more untrue speech as a means of sin. I protect you from the wrath of the truthful dharma and the stunning Varuna. (3)
हे पुरुष! मैं तुझे जठराग्नि को मंद करने वाले महान जलोदर रोग से छुड़ाता हूं. हे परम शक्तिशाली वरुण! आप अपने सहचरों, भटों अर्थात् अपने सेवकों से कहिए कि वे बारबार आ कर इस मनुष्य को पीड़ा न दें. आप हमारे द्वारा दिए गए हवि रूप अन्न और स्तुति से प्रसन्न हो कर हमारे भय का विनाश कीजिए. (४)
O man! I rescue you from the great ascites disease that slows down the gastrointestinal tract. O supremely powerful Varuna! Tell your companions, bhats, that is, your servants, not to come again and again and hurt this man. Please be pleased with the food and praise given by us and destroy our fear. (4)
