यद॒ग्निरापो॒ अद॑हत्प्र॒विश्य॒ यत्राकृ॑ण्वन्धर्म॒धृतो॒ नमां॑सि । तत्र॑ त आहुः पर॒मं ज॒नित्रं॒ स नः॑ संवि॒द्वान्परि॑ वृङ्ग्धि तक्मन् ॥ (१)
हे जीवन को कष्ट पूर्ण बनाने वाले ज्वर! जिस अनिने ने प्रवेश कर के जलों को जलाया अर्थात् गरम किया, यश, दान आदि धार्मिक कृत्य करने वालों ने जिस अग्नि में होम किया है, उसी उत्तम अनिने में से तेरा जन्म बताया गया है. यह सब जानता हुआ तू गरम जल से स्नान करने वाले हमारे शरीर को त्याग कर अन्ने में प्रवेश कर. O fever that makes life painful! The one who entered and burnt the waters, that is, heated, the agni in which those who do religious acts like fame, charity, etc., have done home, your birth is said to be from the same good anina. Knowing all this, you leave our body bathing with hot water and enter the anna. (1)
यद्य॒र्चिर्यदि॒ वासि॑ शो॒चिः श॑कल्ये॒षि यदि॑ वा ते ज॒नित्र॑म् । ह्रूडु॒र्नामा॑सि हरितस्य देव॒ स नः॑ संवि॒द्वान्परि॑ वृङ्ग्धि तक्मन् ॥ (२)
हे जीवन को दुःखमय बनाने वाले ज्वर! तू यद्यपि उष्णता कारक एवं सुखाने वाला है. यद्यपि तेरा जन्म अग्नि से हुआ है, तथापि हे दीप्तिशाली ज्वर! तू मनुष्य के शरीर में पीले रंग को उत्पन्न करने वाला है. इसलिए तू हूढ़ नाम से प्रसिद्ध है. तू हमारे गरम जल से भीगे हुए शरीर को अपना जन्म स्थान अग्नि जान कर हमारे शरीर से बाहर निकल जा. O fever that makes life miserable! You are, however, a heat factor and dry. Though you were born out of agni, O radiant fever! You are going to produce yellow color in the human body. That is why you are famous by the name Hudh. You know our hot water-soaked body as your birth place agni and get out of our body. (2)
हे शीत ज्वर! तुम शरीर को शोकाकुल करने वाले, शरीर को सभी प्रकार से सुखाने वाले एवं तेजस्वी वरुण के पुत्र हो. तुम हूढ़ नाम से प्रसिद्ध हो. तुम हमारे गरम जल से भीगे हुए शरीर को अपना जन्म स्थान अग्नि जान कर हमारे शरीर से बाहर निकल जाओ. (३)
O cold fever! You are the son of the bright Varuna, who mourns the body, dries the body in all ways. You are famous by the name Hudh. You should get out of our body by knowing our body soaked in hot water as your place of birth. (3)
मैं शीत उत्पन्न करने वाले ज्वर को नमस्कार करता हूं. मैं ठंड लगने के बाद चढ़ने वाले एवं शोककारक ज्वर को प्रणाम करता हूं. जो ज्वर प्रतिदिन दूसरे दिन एवं तीसरे दिन आता है, मैं उस के लिए नमस्कार करता हूं. (४)
