अथर्ववेद (कांड 11)
तत॑श्चैनम॒न्यया॑ प्रति॒ष्ठया॒ प्राशी॒र्यया॑ चै॒तं पूर्व॒ ऋष॑यः॒ प्राश्न॑न् । अ॑प्रतिष्ठा॒नोनायत॒नो म॑रिष्य॒सीत्ये॑नमाह । तं वा अ॒हं ना॒र्वाञ्चं॒ न परा॑ञ्चं॒ न प्र॒त्यञ्च॑म् । स॒त्ये प्र॑ति॒ष्ठाय॑ । तयै॑नं॒ प्राशि॑षं॒ तयै॑नमजीगमम् । ए॒ष वा ओ॑द॒नः सर्वा॑ङ्गः॒ सर्व॑परुः॒ सर्व॑तनूः । सर्वा॑ङ्ग ए॒व सर्व॑परुः॒ सर्व॑तनूः॒ सं भ॑वति॒ य ए॒वं वेद॑ ॥ (१८)
गुरु अपने शिष्य से कहे-“हे देवदत्त! पूर्ववर्ती अनुष्ठानकर्ता ऋषियों ने जिस प्रतिष्ठा के माध्यम से इस ब्रह्मौदन का सेवन किया है उस के अतिरिक्त लौकिक प्रतिष्ठा के माध्यम से बुम यदि इस ओदन का सेवन करोगे तो तुम बिना प्रतिष्ठा वाले और बिना घर के स्वामी हुए मरोगे. इस के उत्तर में शिष्य अपने गुरु से निवेदन करे-मैंने इस ब्रह्मौदन का न पराङ्मुख हो कर सेवन किया है, न सामने से सेवन किया है और न आत्माभिमुख हो कर सेवन किया है. मैं ने सत्य में प्रतिष्ठित हो कर उस प्रतिष्ठा के माध्यम से इस ओदन का सेवन किया है. इस ब्रह्मौदन को जहां जाना चाहिए था. मैं ने उसे वहीं पहुंचा दिया है. यह ओदन समस्त अंगों से युक्त, सभी जोड़ों सहित एवं संपूर्ण शरीर वाला है इस विधि से जो इस ओदन का सेवन करना जानता है वह समस्त अंगों वाला, सभी जोड़ों सहित और संपूर्ण शरीर है. The Guru said to his disciple, "O Devdutt! In addition to the reputation through which the previous ritualistic sages have consumed this brahmaudan, if you consume this odan through cosmic prestige, then you will die without prestige and without the owner of the house. In response to this, the disciple should request his Guru - I have not consumed this Brahmaudan without being alien, nor have I consumed it from the front, nor have I consumed it self-oriented. I have embraced this idol through that reputation by being established in the truth. This Brahmaudan should have gone wherever he should have gone. I have taken him there. This odan is full of all organs, with all joints and with a whole body, in this way, the person who knows how to consume this odan is with all the organs, with all the joints and the whole body. (18)
