अथर्ववेद (कांड 19)
ऊ॒र्ध्वस्ति॑ष्ठतु॒ रक्ष॒न्नप्र॑माद॒मस्तृ॑ते॒मं मा त्वा॑ दभन्प॒णयो॑ यातु॒धानाः॑ । इन्द्र॑ इव॒ दस्यू॒नव॑ धूनुष्व पृतन्य॒तः सर्वा॒ञ्छत्रू॒न्वि ष॑ह॒स्वास्तृ॑तस्त्वा॒भि र॑क्षतु ॥ (२)
हे आस्तृत मणि! तुम सावधानीपूर्वक इस धारणकर्ता की रक्षा करती हुई सर्वदा जागरूक रहो. यातुधान अर्थात् राक्षस एवं पणि नाम के असुर तुम्हारी हिंसा न करें. इंद्र ने जिस प्रकार अपने शत्रुओं को रण से भगाते हुए कंपित किया था, उसी प्रकार तुम लुटेरों को कंपित करो. जो संग्राम की इच्छा करते हैं उन सभी शत्रुओं को विशेष रूप से पराजित करो. आस्तृत मणि तुम्हारी रक्षा करे. O swami! Be aware of this holder while carefully protecting him. Do not commit violence to you, that is, demons and demons. Just as Indra shook his enemies while driving them away from the battlefield, so you should vibrate the robbers. Especially defeat all the enemies who desire war. May the unarmed gem protect you. (2)
